After all, with the exception of mages and healers, every hunter class relies heavily on physical prowess, especially in intense combat. That being said, there are a couple of hunters who are still ready to fight monsters even when they are in the twilight of their lives. America’s Strongest National-Level Hunter

The first on this list is undoubtedly the most powerful hunter on this list as well. Thomas Andre is the guild master of the strongest guild in America, the Scavenger Guild. He is also America’s greatest National-Level Hunter. It’s not an exaggeration to say that he is one of the most powerful hunters in the world.
Thomas was one of the hunters who slayed the boss of the first S-Rank dungeon in the world, the colossal dragon Kamish. At 39 years of age, Thomas Andre is not really that old, but he is still above the average age of most hunters in the world. Considering his brash personality and his immense physical prowess, it is safe to assume that Thomas Andre will still be active as a hunter even in his 80s.

Kim Sangshik
A Survivor of the Double Dungeon Incident

On the opposite spectrum of Thomas Andre is a Korean hunter named Kim Sangshik. He is one of the people involved in the double dungeon incident with Jinwoo at the start of the series. Unlike Jinwoo who opted to stay and fought as hard as he could, Kim Sangshik was the first one to abandon his comrades when he saw the opportunity to escape.
Kim Sangshik is a D-Rank hunter, making him the weakest hunter on this list. As a D-Rank, there’s nothing particularly special about Sangshik. Other than his determination to keep going as a hunter despite being in his 50s, there’s nothing remarkable about him. He manages to survive this long by teaming up with high-ranking hunters and focusing their attention on raiding low-ranked dungeons.

The Leader of the Fame Guild

Ma Dongwook is an S-Rank hunter and the guild master of the Fame Guild, one of the top guilds in South Korea. He is an easy-going man who enjoys friendly sparring with his fellow hunters. As an S-Rank hunter, Ma Dongwook has participated in every Jeju Island raid, including the latest one where he fights together with Sung Jinwoo.

As a hunter, Ma Dongwook has the ability to increase the size of his body, therefore increasing his strength exponentially. That being said, there’s a limit to how big he can be. Add to that the fact that he is already in his 50s, and the result is an S-Rank hunter who has already passed his prime. There’s a good chance that he might lose in a fight against younger S-Rank hunters, but against A-Rank hunters or below, Ma Dongwook will undoubtedly come on top.

Yuri Orloff is one of the S-Rank hunters from Russia. Unlike other hunters who use their skills and powers to raid dungeons and defeat monsters, Yuri uses his status as an S-Rank hunter to live a lavish life. He is one of the only hunters who refuse to fight unless there’s a pile of money in it for him. This is one of the reasons why he is still active as a top hunter even in his 50s.
When the massive S-Rank dungeon appears in Tokyo, the Japanese government pays a huge sum of money to Yuri Orloff to help them contain the dungeon. Since he specializes in support magic, especially barrier magic, this is the perfect job for Yuri. Unfortunately for him, the dungeon proves to be way more dangerous than initially predicted.

Sung Il-Hwan
Sung Jinwoo’s Missing Father

Sung Il-Hwan is Sung Jinwoo’s father. Before he became a hunter, Il-Hwan was a firefighter. When he was awakened, he decided to be a full-time hunter in the hope of giving a better life for his family. Unfortunately, he was trapped in a high-ranked dungeon during one of his raids and is declared dead. This tragic incident happened 10 years before the start of the current story.
Sung Il-Hwan appears once again from one of the dungeons in America. His mana is identical to that of a magic beast, which prompts the U.S. Hunter Association to consider him as a humanoid magic beast. There was no ranking system yet when Il-Hwan was active as a hunter. But considering he can easily take down Hwang Dongsoo, an S-Rank hunter from the Scavenger Guild, it’s safe to say that he is an S-Rank hunter as well.

Song Chiyul
One of Jinwoo’s Close Friends

- Rank: C-Rank
- First Appearance: Episode 1
Similar to Kim Sangshik, Song Chiyul was also one of the survivors of the Double Dungeon incident at the start of the series. Unlike Sangshik, however, Song Chiyul was fighting together to the bitter end with Jinwoo. He even lost an arm during that fight. It wasn’t until Jinwoo forced him to leave with the injured hunters that Chiyul eventually agreed to get out of the battlefield.

Song Chiyul is a master swordsman. When it comes to pure swordsmanship alone, he is head and shoulder above most hunters in Korea. Unfortunately for him, no amount of innate talent can overcome the gap of power created by the difference in ranking. Despite his age and the lost of his arm, Song Chiyul is still active as a hunter and even participates as part of the group that defended Seoul during the Jeju Raid.

Go Gunhee
The Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association

- Rank: S-Rank
- First Appearance: Episode 1
Go Gunhee is the chairman of the Korean Hunters Association and one of the S-Rank hunters in South Korea. Since his focus is on the Hunters Association now, Go Gunhee is no longer active as a regular hunter. Besides, considering he is already in his 80s now, his body won’t be able to keep up with his technique. This is especially true in an intense combat situation.
That being said, don’t discount him just yet. Despite his old age, Go Gunhee is built like a tank. His muscular body combined with his towering height is enough to intimidate everybody. While it may not be possible for him to go toe-to-toe with the current S-Rank hunters, he can easily wipe the floor against A-Rank or below. Go Gunhee may be the oldest hunter in the world, but he’s also one of the strongest.
