20 “NOTHING CHANGED! YOU HAVEN’T CHANGED ONE BIT, DAMMIT! YOU’RE STILL AS USELESS AS YOU EVER WERE! NOTHING CHANGED!”
Eren’s frustrations at being unable to change ever after gaining the powers of the Attack Titan really weighed heavily on his mind after the Scouts were being assaulted by several titans. His injuries prevented him from transforming to save his friends.
However, this frustration led to him getting a pep talk from Mikasa before invoking the power of the Coordinate. It was a great moment that added more mystery to the events of Attack on Titan.
19 “Reiner… I’m The Same As You.”
For the longest time, Eren just hated the Titans and couldn’t understand why other people would unleash this hell on them. However, over time, Eren realized that people were the same and it was the circumstances around them that shape them to perform truly heinous acts.

The revelation that Eren manipulated Grisha into killing the royal family was pretty shocking and showed just how far this character would go to accomplish his goals. It was the manner in which he spoke down to Grisha that was particularly chilling.
He reminded his own father of how her sister was fed to the dogs while also mentioning the many sacrifices his friends and family made along the way. Grisha was worn down mentally by Eren, causing him to fly into a state of pure rage and kill innocents without a care in the world.

Ymir’s backstory is a sad one, with this character living in servitude to a horrible king throughout her life after gaining the Titan powers. She believes that her role is simply to adhere to the demands of King Fritz.
However, Eren reminds her that she’s just a human who was manipulated and gives her the means to direct her own fate. This leads to Ymir fighting back against the royal family and helping Eren out instead.

Eren’s insistence to fight back against the powers that are taking his freedom away from him is a thought process that stays constant throughout the series. It’s one of the reasons why everyone loves his character despite his sudden shift in allegiance after the time skip.
Without a fight, people pretty much accept their fate. Eren hates this and motivates the people around him to fight at all costs, even jeopardizing the safety of himself and his comrades if it helps him reach this end goal.

After Annie is revealed to be the Female Titan, the Survey Corps engages in a massive battle against this threat. However, in the anime, Eren takes some time to get used to the fact that his friend was actually one of the Titans that’s fighting against humanity.
It takes a while, but Eren soon realizes that he doesn’t have time to figure out what’s right and wrong. All he had to do at that point was capture Annie, and he did exactly that.

During a tense moment in the series where everyone thought they were going to meet their end, Mikasa told Eren about how glad she was to share her memories with him. This prompted a despondent Eren to snap out of his reverie and fight against the Titans, no matter what.
By punching Dina Fritz’ Titan, he unwittingly activated the coordinate and saved everyone from the brink of death. It was an amazing moment in the series that indicated that Attack on Titan‘s mystery was far from being uncovered.

Freedom is not something that can or should be controlled. Unfortunately, the enemies of Paradis Island thought otherwise.
This didn’t sit well with Eren Yeager, who channeled all his power into plugging Trost’s gate and attaining humanity’s first victory against the Titans. It was an amazing moment that cemented his stature as a powerful and determined protagonist for what was bound to be an exciting tale.
7 “You’ll Never Know. If You’re Not The One Who’s Continuing To Take That Path… Unless You Keep Moving Forward.”
In one of Eren’s recent speeches, he talks about the importance of traveling the tough path to stand for what one believes in. It’s a great line that applies to real life as well.
Moments like these leave fans split down the middle when it comes to Eren. He might be doing what seems like the bad thing… but is he really?
6 “If Someone Is Willing To Take My Freedom… I Won’t Hesitate To Take Theirs.”
Eren’s motivation has become to survive at all costs. Given the injustices he’s gone through, it’s easy to see why he’s developed such a warped and twisted mentality against his enemies.
At the end of the day, Eren’s freedom takes precedence over everything else. The fight might be against people who are the same as him… but if they try to take his freedom, then they’ll pay.
5 “Ever Since I Was A Kid… Mikasa. I’ve Always Hated You.”
This is easily one of the most chilling lines delivered by Eren in the entire series. It’s especially shocking when people know that Eren and Mikasa share such a rich history together as well!
If people weren’t sure whether Eren was the bad guy or not, this line made it pretty clear that he had cut off all his past ties. Of course, until the end of the series, only time will tell if he really meant this.

Propaganda is a powerful tool that can manipulate people with even the nicest hearts around to fight for something truly diabolical. This is precisely what Marley does to convince its citizens that Eldians are truly the scum of the earth.
This is precisely what Eren tells Reiner, presumably absolving the latter of his sins. However, it didn’t take long to realize that this wasn’t even remotely the case…
3 “So If We Kill The Enemy, The One Waiting For Us On The Other Side, Will We… Finally Be Free?”
For the longest time, Armin tries to understand Eren’s motivations and why he’s gone down such a dark path. It’s only when he recalls a particular statement Eren made while pointing towards the ocean that things start making sense for him.
Remembering this foreboding line puts things into perspective for Armin, even though he finds it hard to fathom. This also makes Eren’s motivations extremely complex — is he fighting for his friends all along?
2 “I’ll Just Keep Moving Forward… Until I’ve Killed My Enemies.”
After Reiner’s enlightening chat with Eren post the time skip, the former assumes that things would be fine. However, this isn’t the case, with Eren transforming in one of the most memorable moments in the entire series.
The line he utters before transforming signifies that anyone and everyone on the other side of the ocean is his enemy. He won’t stop at any cost to accomplish his goals, which are still a bit murky even now.

One of the most famous lines uttered by Eren is something that he repeats over and over again throughout the series. His will to fight is constant throughout the series, showing a level of determination that wouldn’t abate no matter what.
Eren is clearly willing to battle for his beliefs at all costs… even though Hange might mock him for the overt show of his mindset. Regardless, its this line of Eren that most people would automatically associate with Attack on Titan‘s protagonist.
