There are tons of new characters in Boruto, but the following stand out because of how well written they are.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is the sequel to Masashi Kishimoto’s famous Naruto manga. At the time of the announcement, fans were extremely hyped, as they would be able to see Naruto and the other old characters guide the new generation of ninjas. Suffice it to say, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has done a decent job of keeping fans happy.

While the series is not perfect, it does have a few strong points, one of which is the characters. They are blessed with unique abilities, but it is their well-written development that makes them interesting. With that in mind, here are the best written characters in Boruto.
7 Kawaki
Kawaki is arguably the easiest choice when it comes to picking a character with the perfect balance. He made his debut in the very first chapter of the manga, where he was fighting Boruto Uzumaki. Most fans presumed that Kawaki was evil, but that changed when his past came to light.
His past made him a recluse, but that changed when he met Naruto. The Seventh Hokage knew that all Kawaki needed was a soft touch. After spending time with Naruto, Kawaki started to leave his shell and express his emotions more freely. Kawaki became so fond of him that he even risked his own life to save Naruto.
6 Mitsuki
Mitsuki is the son of Orochimaru. From a young age, Mitsuki displayed an immense aptitude for fighting, which impressed his parent. The member of the Legendary Sannin even claimed that Mitsuki has the potential to surpass all three of them. While Mitsuki’s abilities are definitely interesting, it is his personality that has drawn the attention of the fans.
Mitsuki left Orochimaru’s place to join the Academy in the Hidden Leaf because he wanted to find his own path in life. Normally, people do not think about such things until they reach adulthood. Mitsuki also knows when and how to act, which is an extremely rare quality. Sadly, his screen time has been limited, but fans will be hoping that changes in Part II.
5 Sarada Uchiha
Sarada Uchiha is a member of Team 7. She is the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura, two of the most famous ninjas in the history of the Hidden Leaf. Despite the fact that she has two great ninjas as her parents, it is Naruto that she aspires to be like.
Sarada made it clear multiple times that she wants to become a great Hokage like Naruto. In fact, she does share several traits with the Hidden Leaf’s Orange Hokage. Both of them are kind and caring and always make decisions that are beneficial for everyone. In addition to these facets, Sarada knows how to lead a team, which is why Boruto and Mitsuki trust her. She is also different from other Uchiha clan members in that she is not glum all the time. All these things make her one of the better characters in Boruto.
4 Kashin Koji
Amado created Kashin Koji using Jiraiya’s DNA. The sole reason behind his creation was to destroy Jigen and rid the world of his threat. However, Kashin Koji was aware of the difference between his power and that of Jigen. So he had to bide his time until the perfect opportunity came up.
Kashin Koji was a strong character who made full use of his intelligence. He always picked the option that was in his best interests, as evidenced by his decision to run away after failing to kill Jigen. Kashin Koji hasn’t appeared in the story for a long time, but maybe he will make a comeback soon.
3 Boruto Uzumaki
At one point, Boruto Uzumaki was the most hated character in the series. It was mainly because of his crude remarks toward Naruto, a character loved by millions. However, many fans failed to understand that Boruto was just a kid.
While he did not make the best of choices, there was no malice behind his actions. He just wanted a father’s love for both himself and Himawari. Eventually, Boruto did accept his mistakes, which helped him become a better and more understanding person. Since then, Boruto’s selfless choices have increased his popularity and made him a respectable character.
2 Code
Code is one of the main antagonists in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. He is obsessed with the Otsutsuki and bears a great deal of hatred toward Kawaki, as he was chosen to be Isshiki’s vessel. Code has an undying loyalty toward the Otsutsuki Clan, which makes him a very dangerous individual. Amado placed limiters on Code’s body to limit the latter’s power.
Code is relentless, and he does not care about collateral damage. He hasn’t had the best of luck so far, although it is hard to deny that it will change at some point. It will be interesting to see how Kishimoto handles Code’s character, as in Naruto, he redeemed almost every single villain.
1 Eida
Eida is among the strongest characters in the series. She is endowed with some of the most ridiculous abilities that make her nearly invincible. Eida’s Senrigan allows her to project her consciousness to any location, enabling her to see and listen to any conversation taking place. She also possesses the power to enchant any individual who sets their sights on her.
Eida is different from the other villains in Boruto in that she does not care about destroying things, which is odd considering her incredible powers. Eida is mainly interested in Kawaki and only helped Code because she wanted to get close to Isshiki’s vessel.
