Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is about to return from its extremely long hiatus and fans can’t be more thrilled about it. A few months ago, Boruto released its final chapter for the first part of the story and, at the end of it, the timeskip began effectively. With chapter 80, there came an announcement that Boruto would go on a long hiatus to prepare for the second part which is where all the major action would finally go down.
Of course, fans were excited by this announcement, even though the wait was hard to endure, however, now, the story is all set to return later this month and fans are already wondering about the various roles that their favorite characters would play. It doesn’t need explaining why Naruto Uzumaki, the 7th Hokage, is one of the fan favorites and quite a lot of fans have been wondering about what involvement he will have in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
What Happened To Naruto
Towards the end of the first part of Boruto, Naruto Uzumaki faced a very tragic fate. This didn’t come as a surprise to the fans, however, since Naruto’s power and positioning had been vaning throughout the entirety of the Boruto series. While Naruto started off as mighty and powerful, the writers of the series decided to nerf him to give Boruto Uzumaki and the next generation ninjas a chance to shine. With Naruto there, they would have never received the opportunity to overshadow him and instead of making them their own characters, the story went a different way and decided to remove the strongest from the picture, giving ample time and opportunities for the next generation of ninjas to strut their stuff.
Of course, the debate over whether this should have been done or not is one worth having, however, at the end of the day, this is the reality that Naruto Uzumaki has to deal with and now, he is, simply put, irrelevant at the moment. Naruto lost Kurama in the fight against Isshiki Otsutsuki. Immediately after, he was made to realize his incompetence and combat against the top tier fighters. Naruto was made to realize that he is not the monster that he once was. To make things worse, Kawaki ended up taking things into his own hands and decided to eradicate all the Otsutsuki by himself in order to keep Naruto safe.
To pull that off, however, Kawaki would need to kill Boruto as well. Given that Boruto is Naruto’s own son, he would not have allowed that at any cost and that is precisely why Kawaki decided to use his powers on him and sealed him away in a separate pocket dimension. In fact, Naruto’s own wife, Hinata Hyuga, is also sealed there with him. In this dimension, time does not flow, meaning both of them are quite safe, however, there has to be more to their role in Boruto than just staying sealed there forever.
The Rescue Of Naruto Uzumaki
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is surely going to focus quite a bit on the rescue of Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto is an incredibly important character and when it comes to the story of Boruto, the fact that he is sealed away in itself is being used as a plot point to drive the story forward. The rescue of Naruto Uzumaki is something that holds tremendous importance to Sasuke Uchiha as well as Boruto Uzumaki. If the village of Konoha were to find out that Naruto Uzumaki was alive, it would become a mission of the utmost priority for them as well. This in itself means that Naruto Uzumaki will hold great importance moving forward in Boruto, however, the question remains as to what kind of a role he will play in the second half of the story.
At the beginning of the story, it is quite easy to figure out that Naruto will serve a purpose to drive the likes of Boruto and Sasuke forward, as well as force a confrontation between Boruto and Kawaki. Sasuke wants to save Naruto because he means a lot to him and the two are best friends.
Meanwhile, Naruto is Boruto’s dad and he doesn’t really need a reason to save him. Boruto also wants to stop Kawaki and, in a way, save him from himself as well. All this put together means that the first significant part of Boruto could simply be a fight of ideals between Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki and at the end of it, Naruto Uzumaki will be rescued.
Of course, fans also know that Konoha will face tremendous damage moving forward in the story. The village is utterly destroyed by some entity in the future and that was teased in the prologue of Boruto. How exactly this event will come to pass remains to be seen, however, Boruto Uzumaki claims that the age of shinobi is finally over. Yet, Boruto is the last shinobi standing, which means that there is still hope. If Boruto manages to save the day and rescue Naruto eventually, then fans can finally start looking forward to Naruto Uzumaki’s rise to power once again and, perhaps, a bigger fight against the Otsutsuki aliens.
Naruto’s Return To Power
At the end of the day, the fight between Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki is going to be resolved. Boruto and Kawaki are like brothers and their relationship mirrors that of Naruto and Sasuke in many ways, however, it is quite clear to see that it pales in comparison in every way. Regardless, fans already know that their fight is one that will likely conclude with them becoming friends once again and this would mean that Naruto Uzumaki will be freed. Once he does get freed, Naruto could possibly come back to power once again. For one, Naruto would be the 7th Hokage of the village once again. More importantly, the recent events and possibly even the destruction of Konoha, which Naruto is sure to witness, will make him realize that he needs to step up his game.
Naruto has weakened ever since he lost Kurama and he needs to make up for that. Either Naruto Uzumaki has to train harder and find ways to reach his former levels without Kurama, or, he can seek help from the likes of Ada to help bring Kurama back to life using the incredible Jutsu of Omnipotence, which can essentially do anything that the user wishes. Of course, there are countless ways for Naruto Uzumaki to return to power and, if the author so wishes, they can certainly bring him back to full power.
Kawaki did mention that the threat of the Otsutsuki Clan is far more than just Boruto Uzumaki and with several of these alien parasites lurking and, at the same time, the lore of Shibai Otsutsuki being introduced in the series only means that there is a lot to look forward to for the fans. Naruto Uzumaki, being the 7th Hokage and the savior of the world, is sure to be involved and fans could even see him return to his former strength once again. Every single fan of Boruto and Naruto would love to see their favorite return to power and make an impression before Boruto finally concludes for good.
