The official Twitter account for the Naruto series made an announcement on July 20th, 2023, pertaining to the future of the series. The account tweeted about the return of Boruto: Naruto Next Generation. It stated that the series would be coming back in August 2023. The next arc of Boruto is called Two Blue Vortex, and it will release on August 21.
An image with Sarada’s new design was also revealed, and her outfit seems to be inspired by Akatsuki’s cloak from Naruto. Kishimoto and the rest of the staff working on Boruto have not revealed any other designs, and most likely they will want to keep them under wraps. Fans of the series have been waiting for a long time to learn about the manga’s next phase after the hiatus was announced in April. The manga was not doing well, so the decision did not surprise anyone. The manga was releasing chapters on a monthly basis, and the quality seemed to go down after every month.
There was growing concern among fans about the future of the series. Even Masashi Kishimoto’s return did not do any miracles for the manga. With every passing chapter, the treatment of the old generation got worse and worse. This was painful for fans of the older generation, as they grew up watching them.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generation is the sequel to Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto. The manga started serializing in 2016, and the first part reached its conclusion in 2023. The Boruto manga was part of the Weekly Shonen Jump from May 2016 to June 2019. It ultimately moved to V Jump in July 2019. In the beginning, Ukyo Kodachi was writing the manga, but his role was taken over by Masashi Kishimoto in 2020. Boruto has inspired an anime adaptation, a movie, several novels, and video games.
Boruto anime started airing in 2017, and it went on hiatus in 2023. The anime racked up over 200 episodes during its initial run, and it earned mixed reviews from the audience. Most viewers disliked the enormous amount of filler episodes in the anime.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is set many years after the Fourth Great Ninja War. With Naruto bringing an end to violence and wars, the world becomes a safer place for people to live. For this reason, Boruto and his friends have a very different outlook compared to their parents. However, there are still many malevolent forces that pose a threat to the survival of the world. With the adults busy with their own things, the responsibility falls on Boruto and his friends.
