Bosch Legacy’s Season 3 release date is officially announced
Bosch: Legacy’s season 3 release date has officially been set for March 27th, with 10 episodes streaming exclusively on Prime Video. It was previously revealed that the final season will be primarily based on two separate Bosch titles: The Black Ice, as well as Desert Star. Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) investigates a family’s disappearance, while Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers) runs for District Attorney, and Maddie Bosch (Madison Lintz) works a case involving a string of violent robberies. There will be huge revelations about the murder of Kurt Dockweiler, a mystery that has haunted the characters for years. Other characters are set to return as well, including detectives Crate and Barrel (Gregory Scott Cummins and Troy Evans, respectively), Maurice ‘Mo’ Bassi (Stephen A. Chang), and Detective Reina Vasquez (Denise Sanchez). Michael Connelly, author of the Bosch books and executive producer on Bosch: Legacy, expressed his gratitude, saying “What an amazing run it has been. I could not have asked for a better cinematic adaptation of my work.”

While fans will at least get to see a proper ending, the show’s cancelation has been a sticking point. Along with the fact that Amazon seemed to be doing very little to promote Bosch: Legacy’s season 3, there was also the notion that the cancelation had been planned a long time ago. A planned spinoff of the show featuring Jerry Edgar was also scrapped, though the Renee Ballard spinoff starring Maggie Q appears to still be moving forward, with Titus Welliver set to appear in three episodes. Together, they will work their way through the Library of Lost Souls.
Of course, with seven seasons of the original Bosch, plus the three seasons of Bosch: Legacy, fans might wonder what more there is to say about Harry Bosch. With so many titles, as well as one final outing that Michael Connelly has planned, there could be plenty, but unless Bosch: Legacy was able to find a new home on Netflix, this third season will truly be the end. Even though it seemed like Michael Connelly and Titus Welliver had big plans for the detective, Bosch may just have to close the book with one final case.
Bosch: Legacy is available to stream on Amazon Prime, with season 3 premiering on March 27th.
