Chinmayi Sripaada is an Indian playback singer, who predominantly works in the Southern film industry. Apart from being a singer, she is also a voice actor, television presenter, and radio jockey. She is the founder and CEO of her own translation services company called Blue Elephant. She came into limelight with her critically acclaimed song “Oru Deivam Thantha Poovae” from the National Award winning movie Kannathil Muthamittal. Singer Chinmayi Profile and Career
Chinmayi was born on 10 September 1984 in Mumbai, India. She comes from musically rich family. Her paternal grandfather happens to be Padmabhushan awardee – Sangita Kalanidhi who was raised by her mother T Padmasini who is a singer and musicologist taught her Carnatic music and Hindustani classical music. After her birth and early childhood in Mumbai, Chinmayi moved to Chennai, where she did her schooling at Children’s Garden school until the age of 10. She was then attended Hindu Senior Secondary School, Indira Nagar and then went on to do her school education via home study modules wherein she had partly completed her homeschooled after the 10th class. She then received CCRT Scholarship for the Young Talent for Carnatic Music (YTCM) from Indian Government. As music was in her blood, she began her career in music and went on to win the gold medal from AIR Ghazals in 2000 along with getting Silver Medal for Hindustani Classical Music in the year 2002.
She then learned the German language at the Max Mueller Bhavan in Chennai and then completed her certifications from NIIT and SSI in web design. During her school life, she worked for Sify and www.studentconcepts .org followed by doing her BA in Psychology from Madras University. Chinmayi married her longtime friend Rahul Ravindran on 5 May 2014. Rahul is a South Indian actor, who has appeared in Telugu, Tamil and English language films.
