After defeating the Serpoians, Momo, Okarun, and Aira return to the Ayase household in the evening with the injured Dover Demon, who fell unconscious following the battle. With Seiko’s help, they not only provide him with medical assistance but also ensure that he returns to his planet, assured that he can now help his sick son.
As they are having a discussion with Seiko after Dover Demon’s departure, they are distracted by a knock on the door. When Momo goes to open the door, she is shocked by the unexpected arrival of an old friend. Dandadan’s Cursed House Arc follows Momo and Okarun as they embark on an adventure to Daija Town, where dark mysteries and intimidating foes await them.

When Momo opens the door to the Seiko household, she is shocked to find Jiji standing in front of her. Okarun and Aira are puzzled by the arrival of the mysterious boy, so Seiko explains that he used to be her granddaughter’s childhood friend and her first love. Later, when the Shiratori and Takakura are gone, Seiko reveals that Jin’s parents have been hospitalized, so he will be living with them for now. Although there is truth to her reasoning, it’s not the entire story.

As Jiji and Momo finally get to talk after a long time, he apologizes for bullying and mocking her back when they were young. He then reveals that the house his family moved to after leaving Kamigoe City is cursed, and he has been haunted by an evil spirit since then. Although he sought help from many spirit mediums, no one could help him, and some even ended up taking their lives after the exorcisms. Seiko then reveals that she is going to entrust Momo with the mission to exorcise the ghost in Jiji’s house since her powers are limited to Kamigoe City.
In the days leading up to their departure to Daija Town, Jiji enrolls in Momo’s school. During one lunch break, they are shocked to see an anatomical model, later revealed to be Taro, running past them. As they notice a shiny ball on his crotch, Momo and Okarun suspect that he might be in possession of the latter’s second kintama.
After they chase after him, they witness his romantic reunion with his lover, Hana. Taro’s heartfelt confession makes Okarun discover what he truly feels for Momo. As he realizes that he might be in love, Ken is left speechless by the enormity of the situation. Okarun and his friends end up befriending Taro and Hana but are disappointed to learn that the shiny ball they suspected to be the second kintama is just a Christmas ornament.

After the initial inspection of Jin’s house, Momo concludes that there seems to be nothing out of the ordinary. Convinced that the spirits will probably show up at night, she decides to explore the town, confident that Okarun and Jiji will look after each other. The duo plays football outside the house for a while before noticing that there seems to be a secret room next to the foyer that has escaped everyone’s attention until now.
Upon inspection, Jiji and Okarun realize that the wall feels hollow. They open a hole through it and are shocked to find a room filled with talismans. While they are puzzled by the discovery, the members of the Kito family, who own the cursed house, suddenly show up at the doorstep. Meanwhile, Momo visits the Tsuchinoko shrine, where she meets the priest Manjiro. He reveals the village’s history of worshipping the Mongolian Death Worm and offering human sacrifices to it to prevent the prophetic eruption of the nearby volcano.
Our village has a legend of a great serpent. A shrine that’s said to have 200 years of history and worships a great snake. It’s called Tsuchinoko shrine.
After learning the shocking truth about the Tsuchinoko, Momo heads to the nearby hot spring to relax before she heads back to Jin’s house, not knowing that Turbo Granny had secretly accompanied her by hiding in her bag. As she is taking a bath, Momo is surrounded by creepy male members of the Kito family who try to assault her. She is saved at the last minute after the walls around the hot spring mysteriously fall down on them, giving her a chance to escape. Momo runs back to Jiji’s house while the villagers chase the Kito family members to teach them a lesson.

By the time Momo arrives at Jin’s home, the Kito family members there have already beaten up her friends after a brief questioning. It is revealed that they have been the ones who have offered the Tsuchinoko human sacrifices for the last 200 years to ensure that the volcano does not erupt according to the prophecy. As a fight breaks out between Momo and the Kito family, everyone is accidentally sent down to the lair where the Tsuchinoko lives. In the ensuing chaos, the Mongolian Death Worm swallows the Kito family alive.

Momo, Okarun, and Jin are naturally shocked by Tsuchinoko’s rampage and try to hide to save themselves from being swallowed like the Kito family. However, they are ignorant of the Mongolian Death Worm’s supernatural powers. While the trio, along with Turbo Granny, manage to hide from the Great Snake, they cannot protect themselves from its psychic waves that push people to take their own lives.
Momo and Okarun are immediately under Tsuchinoko’s spell and try to commit suicide while Jin desperately tries to save them. The situation escalates as the Tsuchinoko starts using the sounds the trio makes to look for them. As Momo and Okarun get out of hiding to jump to their deaths, the Great Snake finally spots the three friends. But before it can attack them, the mysterious spirit that had been following Jin appears, as if to defend them.
Turbo Granny is shocked by the sight of the spirit. As Momo and Okarun finally regain composure, she explains to the trio that the spirit that has haunted Jin is known as the Evil Eye. The yokai is known to push people to their suicide merely with his gaze and tells them to avoid eye contact at all costs. While Okarun transforms and beheads the Tsuchinoko, Momo, Jin, and Turbo Granny run to take cover while being followed by the Evil Eye.
As Jiji becomes curious if the Evil Eye is responsible for his parent’s hospitalization following a suicide attempt, the yokai reveals its memories. A long time ago, the Evil Eye was just a child who became a victim of Tsuchinoko’s human sacrifice and was turned into a spirit, with his lifelong desire to play outside remaining unfulfilled. With his corpse still trapped in the lair of the generational sacrificial house, the Evil Eye witnessed the sacrifices of innocent kids, which made him grow a deep-seated hatred for humanity.

Moved by Evil Eye’s story, Jin develops a soft spot for the yokai. Meanwhile, Okarun gets tired of fighting the Tsuchinoko, who is able to regenerate itself despite being beheaded. As Jin finally finds Evil Eye’s rotting corpse in layers of the house, he gets close to it despite warnings from Turbo Granny. Something moves inside Jiji in the following moments, and as the Tsuchinoko attacks, he punches it with brute force. Unfortunately for Jin, the Evil Eye has tricked him into gaining control over his body so that he can use him as his vessel to kill all humans.
Before Momo and Turbo Granny can do anything, the Evil Eye attacks them. He then uses the grudges of sacrificed victims to attack the Tsuchinoko, forcing it to retreat. As Okarun realizes what has happened, he decides to take on the Evil Eye. He helps Momo escape the lair and informs her that the Great Snake can only be defeated using sunlight. With Momo gone, Okarun engages in a violent battle with the Evil Eye. Furious that the yokai harmed his friends, he beats him up and ends the fight by punching him out of the cursed house.

When Okarun goes to help Turbo Granny, who has been trapped in the lair because of Tsuchinoko’s sticky phlegm, he also ends up getting caught. With his powers pushed to the limit already, the duo realizes that they are defenseless and start screaming for help. Meanwhile, Momo has already set the cursed house on fire, unbeknownst to the events that have transpired in the lair.
That idiot! I warned him, you can’t trust someone with the Evil Eye.
As the Tsuchinoko emerges from the ground, shocking the villagers, Momo uses the chance to expose it to sunlight. As the Great Snake succumbs to the sun’s rays, the nearby volcano erupts as told in the prophecy. Before its death, the Tsuchinoko had vomited the Kito family members who were still alive. As its leader blames Momo for the chaos and recites the legend, Momo realizes that its meaning has been misinterpreted. She uses the Great Snake’s body as a hose and controls the magma flowing down the mountain and through the nearby forest.
Even Momo’s heroic actions are not enough to satisfy the Kito family’s head. As she tries to attack, Manjiro comes to her rescue, revealing himself to be her grandmother’s disciple. But their problems are far from over as the Evil Eye arrives at the scene. Luckily, Seiko, accompanied by Taro, Dover Demon, and Chiquitita, comes to Manjiro and Momo’s rescue and manages to restrain the dangerous yokai before it does any more damage.
With the Tsuchinoko and Evil Eye defeated, Momo rushes to look for Okarun and Turbo Granny and is shocked to realize that the cursed house has burned down. Fearing the worst, she desperately looks for the duo and is relieved to find them safe, buried in the rubble. Momo hugs Okarun tightly, overcome with emotion and elated that she did not lose him.
