Notable Transformations | Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego, Beast Form, Full Power Super Saiyan, Orange Form |

The Characters Concerned | Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Broly, Piccolo |
The main thing that fans of the series are ready to see is the fact that the Z-Fighters are now all at their strongest state, so it’s going to be incredibly interesting to see how they perfect these new forms and how they’ll fight with them. Conversely, with each of the Z-Fighters now being at their strongest levels, many new and powerful villains await who will challenge the heroes with their own universal levels of power.
Goku and Vegeta have unlocked their strongest forms that give them the ability to use the Divine Techniques of the Angels and Gods of Destruction respectively. Ultra Instinct allows Goku to fight at the highest level by giving his body the ability to dodge on its own and make his offense ever stronger, while Vegeta’s Ultra Ego is the exact opposite, since it prioritizes taking damage and absorbing all of it to make his next attack even stronger. This way, these two have entered the ranks of the Divine Hierarchy and are the candidates to take up their respective roles.

On the other hand, Gohan and Broly both have exceptional new transformations that make full use of their limitless potential. Gohan’s Beast and Broly’s Full Powered Super Saiyan don’t have unique properties like Goku and Vegeta’s strongest forms, though their insane power output easily puts them around the same level as them. Due to this similarity, many fans believe that Broly and Gohan may even fuse in the future.
Even though the Saiyans are undoubtedly the greatest fighters in the universe, fans were delighted to see Piccolo get a new transformation in the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film. With Orange Piccolo, the Namekian is also in the same tier of power as his Saiyan allies, so it will be amazing to see the role he will play in the future as a central component to the vanguard of Universe 7. Moreover, the many allies that the heroes have made throughout Super could also come back to play just as big of a role.

Potential Story Arcs Await The Heroes
Here Are The Many Ways The Story Can Continue
Close
The last fans saw of the Z-Fighters was in Chapter 103, where the series concluded on a rather hopeful note as everyone flew off into the distance and the world seemed to be at peace, with no indication of the start of another adventure on the horizon. However, knowing how Dragon Ball is, this is sure to be a short-lasting peace and, when the story comes back, there will likely be a whole new set of problems for Goku and friends to face.
The most obvious of these is the much-awaited Black Frieza arc, which will likely show the final battle against the series’ most iconic villain. Frieza is so beloved by the fanbase that he has returned on 3 separate occasions, with his latest return being one where he was pardoned for his sins at the end of the Tournament of Power, causing him to resume his rampage across Universe 7. At some point, the villain came upon a Hyperbolic Time Chamber on a random planet he was conquering, where he managed to get in 10 years worth of training in a few days.
Meet Black Frieza. Achieving this form took plenty of toil, I’ll have you know!
This resulted in Black Frieza; his latest transformation which is so powerful that he was able to defeat Goku and Vegeta in their strongest forms with a single hit. So, naturally, this implies that the heroes will eventually face him towards the end of Dragon Ball, opening up the possibilities of an exceptional arc that will not only have the characters get even stronger than they are now, but it also implies that there will be major story changes.
Other than this, fans have been begging to see an arc that takes place in Universe 6 for many years now, since this was teased back in the Universe 6 vs. Universe 7 arc. There are tons of possibilities for what awaits the heroes here, with the most asked for being Vegeta and Goku’s visit to Planet Sadala, as this was mentioned early on. Such an event would be incredible to witness, particularly for Vegeta, since he would get the chance to be the Prince of all Saiyans, as well as give an insight into how the Saiyans would have been in other circumstances.

Such an arc would also show the Universe 6 Saiyans once more, who were characters that fans loved. However, due to the many differences between the Saiyans of both universes, Dragon Ball Super has the opportunity to introduce mechanics to them that simply don’t exist for their Universe 7 counterparts, which exists as the perfect chance to bring many different aspects into the canon, such as Super Saiyan 4 being unique to Universe 6 Saiyans.
Finally, the multiverse in general would be the perfect canvas for the last arc of Dragon Ball Super, an aspect of the series fans really want to see more of. If the manga comes back and covers an arc that relates to the entire multiverse, similar to the Tournament of Power, then Super’s return would be an astronomical success. A notable story beat could perhaps be a second Tournament of Power or just the Z-Fighters visiting other universes, particularly the ones that were exempt from the tournament to see just how strong they truly are.
I’m always happy to show the Omni-Kings how right they were to exempt us from the tournament, as our group is far superior to those universes forced to fight for their survival.
Similarly, a final arc for the series could take a page out of the book of the beloved fan manga; Dragon Ball Kakumei. Like in this story, there could be a massive threat that threatens the stability of the multiverse or just seeks to erase all of existence, prompting all the remaining universes to band together to defeat it. In Kakumei, Android 17’s wish brought back even the destroyed 6 universes as the central antagonists, so something like this could easily be done for Super once it returns, and would be amazing to see.
In this sense, there are a lot of potential places where the story could go, each of which would be fantastic. The Dragon Ball franchise is beloved by millions and has created some exceptional characters, so to see them returning to the franchise in any capacity would surely set the fandom ablaze. Although the future of the Dragon Ball Super manga is uncertain to return in its full capacity, it will surely break the internet once it actually does.
Dragon Ball can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
