Jujutsu Kaisen Is a phenomenal series with some of the most intriguing characters that fans have seen in recent years. Just like any other story, Jujutsu Kaisen has its own strong points, and it goes without saying that this series delivers phenomenal fights, along with an extremely exciting power system. In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, fans know that Sukuna, the King of Curses, along with Gojo Satoru, are the strongest. These characters held this position for the longest time, and they went on to redefine what true strength meant in just about every definition of the word. However, at the end of JJK, both Gojo and Sukuna are officially dead. As a result, a new strongest needed to rise, with quite a lot of exciting contenders to choose from.

More recently, in the epilogue chapter of JJK, fans got to look into the distant future, 2080 to be specific. By this time, the world of JJK had changed drastically, and most certainly, a new strongest would have emerged. Undoubtedly, the two biggest contenders for the title of the strongest would be Yuta Okkotsu and Yuji Itadori.
Yuji’s Full Potential Made Him Sukuna’s Successor
- Yuji Awakened Sukuna’s Shrine Technique
- Yuji was deemed to have Sukuna Level potential
Both Yuta and Yuji are two of the most powerful characters that fans have seen in Jujutsu Kaisen, but only one of them is the protagonist of the series and that’s Yuji. Fans know Yuji to have always been abnormally powerful. Before Yuji ate Sukuna’s finger, he was monstrously strong for his age, such that even a full-fledged sorcerer, Megumi, failed to keep up with him at the beginning. When he consumed Sukuna’s finger, he only started getting stronger, and upon being trained by Gojo, and later down the line, the likes of Todo, Yuji’s strength continued to grow. He went out to learn how to manipulate cursed energy, and even created his own signature techniques, such as Divergent Fist. More than that, Yuji even managed to learn how to hit a powerful Black Flash, and he went on to make it one of his signature moves, even though it is quite unpredictable in terms of when it lands.
The next generation won’t be stopping at Special Grade. – Gojo Satoru
While Yuji certainly was impressive at the beginning, one can’t exactly say that he was a prodigy like no other. After all, Yuji did not even have an innate technique, or access to abilities like the reverse cursed technique, among other abilities. He was very limited in terms of what he could do and was, in many ways, a one-trick pony. This made Yuji quite a boring character. In fact, right up until the very end, fans can say that Yuji was quite plain in regards to how he fought, when compared to the many exciting characters with immensely powerful cursed techniques in JJK.
Although Yuji might’ve been a boring fighter, what fans can say for sure is that he certainly wasn’t weak at the end of the series. He finally managed to tap into his true potential at the end, specifically in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. He was able to fight Sukuna and keep up with him, which is certainly very impressive, to say the least. Yuji was able to gain control over techniques like reverse cursed technique, much of which was down to his usage of blood manipulation. At the same time, after landing a powerful Black Flash on the King of Curses, he also awakened the Shrine cursed technique, and it was truly a phenomenal ability for him to attain.
With the power of Cleave and Dismantle, Yuji had essentially acquired Sukuna’s ability. It is here that the author adds a very intriguing statement. Through Uraume, the author clearly goes on to state that Yuji shares a blood connection with Sukuna, and at the same time, having had the King of Curses live inside his body essentially means that he has the same potential as the King of Curses himself. This means that with his full power, Yuji should be as strong as the King of Curses.
However, Yuji is not as innovative, and fans have already seen a glimpse of that in the story. Even at the very end of the series, Yuji was nowhere near Sukuna in terms of power, and he was certainly not as big a genius as the King of Curses. Regardless, Yuji would still go on to attain a very high level when in adulthood, and fans should be able to expect a sorcerer who has a fair shout for the position of the strongest.
Yuta’s Tremendous Stature And Strength At The End Of JJK
Yuta Okkotsu Continued Growing Stronger
Close
Yuta Okkotsu is anything but a fighter with a straightforward ability, and is a bag full of tricks. Yuta has the power of Rika at his side, who is a powerful Cursed Spirit known as the Queen of Curses. Rika possesses tremendous cursed energy, and a near-infinite supply of it. She also serves as Yuta’s aide in battle, and allows him to store weapons inside. More than that, Yuta and Rika work together to utilize the Copy cursed technique, which essentially allows him to copy someone’s technique if he manages to have Rika consume a part of their body. As long as that part isn’t healed, Yuta can utilize the technique as long as Rika is active. Yuta also has a very powerful Domain Expansion, called Authentic Mutual Love.
It’s the power of love. – Yuta
This is an incredible ability that allows Yuta to utilize all his copied cursed techniques just about infinitely. He simply has to pick up a random sword from within the domain, and whatever technique the sword carries can be utilized by him again and again. Any of these techniques can go on to become the sure hit of Yuta’s domain, which is what makes it truly a monstrous domain expansion.

The Gojo clan is the only one of the Big 3 families that stood the test of time in the JJK story. That is despite Gojo’s death.

More than that, Yuta also carries blood ties to Gojo through Michizane no Sugawara, and this essentially means that Yuta and Gojo have a certain similarity in terms of power, and that Yuta carries tremendous potential. Yuta seems to also be connected to the Fujiwara, although much about that remains unknown to this point. What matters is that Yuta is believed to have tools that even Gojo didn’t, and the potential to match the strongest in modern history. Yuta was already monstrously powerful at the end of JJK, and had things gone his way, he could potentially have beaten Sukuna already. What’s more, Yuta also spent some time in Gojo’s body, which could have given him an even bigger boost, since he got to see how Gojo utilized his techniques and possibly incorporated the knowledge into his own.
Was Yuta Stronger Than Yuji Itadori?
Yuta Might Hold The Edge Over Yuji
Close
Into adulthood, both Yuta and Yuji would have hit their maximum power. By the year 2080, fans knew that Yuta was the acting head of Gojo Clan, which essentially meant that he was one of the strongest around. Meanwhile, fans don’t know much about Yuj, but his performance in the war was enough for him to qualify as one of the strongest. If Yuji went on to fulfill his potential, then he would be the next Sukuna, and someone on the same level.
If Yuta went on to fulfill his potential, then he would be as strong as Gojo, if not stronger. Clearly, these two characters would be neck and neck at the end of JJK, but in terms of cursed techniques, it is likely that Yuta was the one with a larger bag of tricks, and with the massive support that comes with Rika. As such, Yuta is the strongest at the end of the series, with Yuji following right behind him.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s last chapter, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
