Gojo was up there with the strongest individuals in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. In fact, he was widely renowned as the strongest modern sorcerer, and he was able to his own against the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna. In fact, Gojo and Sukuna were almost neck and neck in terms of strength, and even though Gojo lost his battle to him, on another day, he could potentially have won. Of course, the plot required Gojo to lose, and that is why he ended up losing the battle against him.

However, Gojo still finds himself as an individual at the top of the era. While Gojo was certainly very powerful, he himself admitted that there are many sorcerers who would, one day, reach levels similar to him. In fact, there are many new generation sorcerers who have, in one way or another, already surpassed Gojo, which is very intriguing.

Of course, surpassing Gojo as a sorcerer overall is not an easy feat. While there might be individuals who have the potential to pull this off, it is not going to be easy for any of them. That said, there are already many sorcerers who have, in one way or another, managed to surpass Gojo in a particular aspect of sorcery. For instance, the protagonist of the series, Yuji Itadori, has already surpassed Gojo in terms of Black Flashes. Hitting a black flash is incredibly difficult for anyone to accomplish, yet, Yuji is the absolute master of this technique. Yuji was able to hit four black flashes against Hanami right after learning what this technique actually was, which is incredible when one thinks about it. Later down the line, Yuji continued to hit more black flashes, but it wasn’t until Shinjuku that his true power when it comes to hitting black flashes awakened.
Yuji was able to hit eight black flashes against Sukuna, and this allowed him to break all sorts of records. He is completely in a league of his own when it comes to black flashes, and even Gojo cannot compete against him in this art. Granted, Gojo himself admits that this is likely down to the fact that his battles end up wrapping up way before he even hits a black flash in most cases. Still, there is no denying the fact that Yuji is able to hit the black flash more efficiently as he’s blessed by the sparks of black in the story.

That is not to say that Yuji cannot surpass Gojo in other aspects of Jujutsu sorcery. Yuji is on course to surpass Gojo as well as Sukuna. Yuji is blessed with immense talent. He can hit the black flash almost at will, he has an incredible cursed technique in blood manipulation, and recently, he also awakened the second curse technique, called the Shrine, which is also utilized by the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna. Yuji has Jujutsu of Sukuna engraved in his body, and it is only a matter of time before he grows into it and is able to bring out this technique at its very best. As such, Yuji can reach levels similar to Gojo and Sukuna, and fans should not be surprised at knowing this.

Another sorcerer who has done incredibly well for herself in the Shinjuku Showdown arc is none other than Maki. Maki reached levels equal to that of Toji Fushiguro in the early parts of the Culling Game. However, ever since then, she has continued to grow stronger, and fans know for a fact that Maki, right now, is on a level beyond that of Toji. Maki is incredibly powerful, and thanks to the one-month timeskip, she has been able to train her body even further and take it a level beyond.
Another fierce human on par with Toji Zenin has now been fully realized!
This is how Maki was able to fight even against Sukuna, and that’s been absolutely brilliant for the fans to see. Of course, Maki does not possess any special Jujutsu and, as a result, in that aspect, she can never rival Gojo, or anyone, for that matter. However, Maki’s true specialty lies in her physical attributes.

In terms of observing things around her as well as reading her environment, Maki far surpasses Gojo. He already surpassed his Gojo in terms of cursed energy reserves. However, that is not the only aspect of Jujutsu that he surpasses him in. Yuta’s domain is quite special, and in terms of his sure hit, Yuta is far beyond Gojo. In the battle against Sukuna, fans saw Yuta being capable of utilizing incredible techniques.
He could choose which technique to use on his enemies as the sure hit of the domain. Yuta is absolutely monstrous in battle, and there is no denying the fact that he will go on to grow even stronger with time. That said, Yuta has already shown signs of surpassing Gojo, which is absolutely incredible.

A very unlikely individual that hardly anyone predicted would go on to surpass Gojo in any aspect of battle is Miwa. Fans know her to be quite weak, and the author has absolutely done nothing for her character throughout the series. However, through some unknown means, Miwa has managed to strengthen her simple domain incredibly well.
When Sukuna created his Malevolent Shrine recently in the manga, Miwa was able to protect Maki from all the slashes. Sukuna maintained his domain for a total of 99 seconds, and it appears that Miwa is on course to tank all the attacks using her simple domain, which is nothing short of outrageous. Gojo struggled to do something similar with a simple domain, yet, Miwa can utilize this high-level art incredibly well.
