The latest Mushoku Tensei anime series episode portrays Rudeus receiving a letter from Paul. Before Rudeus got married, he sent a letter to his father; and finally, Paul’s reply arrives. Paul’s letter lets fans in on several things that could lead to a much deeper plot. A major thing in the letter is Paul mentioning how he and his crew have a lead on Zenith and how they plan to track her down.
However, with Zenith in a region of harsh terrain, he’ll be sending Rudeus’ sisters, Norn and Aisha Greyrat to Rudeus for babysitting. With Rudeus all grown up and babysitting, fans are expected to see how Rudeus’ growth and maturity will be portrayed as he takes on the role of an elder brother in Mushoku Tensei.

Rudeus Cannot Cast Incantation-Less Healing Magic
Close
After getting his letter from Paul, Rudeus informs Sylphy that his sisters will be coming over. At this moment, the young mage is thankful he has a house to his name as he can now support his family with it. Thinking of supporting his family makes Rudeus reminisce about when he was a NEET and how far he’s come. At dinner time, Rudeus asks Sylphy if she wants anything, and she replies that she’ll be interested in him teaching her disturb magic, while she teaches him healing magic.
Interestingly, Sylphy can somewhat interfere with Rudeus’ spell at first glance showing her potential; however, Rudeus cannot cast incantation-less healing magic. This comes as a surprise to both Rudeus and Sylphy as Rudeus practically invented his style of silent casting. To explain this phenomenon, Rudeus and Sylphy suggest that it may be because he has no idea about how the person on the receiving end feels. As Rudeus’ silent casting is due to him being able to visualize the result, he and Sylphy’s hypothesis may as well be true. Interestingly, Sylphy, Rudeus’ student, can cast healing magic without needing incantations.

Rudeus And Nanahoshi’s Emotional Parallel

At school, Nanahoshi’s efforts have finally borne fruit as she comes up with a magic circle to summon objects, even if little, from her world. To well-versed Mushoku Tensei fans, matters of summoning often include Perugius Dola, a master summoning expert. As Rudeus and Nanahoshi continue their research on summoning, they may come across the Armored Dragon King sooner than later.
Meanwhile, Nanahoshi has Rudeus try to activate her circle, but the magic flow cuts off and the experiment fails. Initially, Nanahoshi takes the failure well, having minimal reactions. However, once Rudeus leaves, she starts screaming and begins to vent her frustration on any and everything around her. Thankfully, Rudeus manages to calm her tantrum; however, Nanahoshi seems to enter a slump similar to when he was depressed, bringing back terrible memories.
With Zanoba’s help, Rudeus manages to get Nanahoshi to his house; however, the mage himself doesn’t look so different from Nanahoshi.

Nanahoshi Makes A Breakthrough

Despite trying various ways to cheer Nanahoshi up, nothing seems to work as the Japanese teenage girl seems to have fallen into depression. Seeing that his efforts to cheer Nanahoshi up aren’t bearing fruit, Rudeus decides to have his peers look at the magic circle she was working on. Interestingly, Zanoba suggests using multiple overlapping circles to create one effect rather than a compound magic circle in which things can quickly go haywire. This idea of his was gotten from the doll recovered at Rudeus’ house making fans all the more curious about the true identity of the past owner of the house. What this could potentially mean is the doll maker is someone with a high magic intellect.
With Zanoba’s idea and Cliff’s expertise, the group manages to come up with something, and after Rudeus introduces it to Nanahoshi, she is starstruck. Recognizing the genius idea brought to her, Nanahoshi returns from her depressive state and begins drawing magic circles. However, Cliff quickly corrects her errors and the duo begin to work together.
Nanahoshi’s new act of accepting help suggests that it might be time the teenage Japanese girl interacts with the people of the world she finds herself rather than close herself off. After all, as actual inhabitants of the fantasy world, they have far more experience when it comes to magic.
At the end of Nanahoshi’s experiment, Rudeus manages to summon a plastic bottle from Earth showing that they are indeed moving in the right direction.

Could Ruijerd Have A Role To Play?
Close
After Nanahoshi’s breakthrough, she hosts a celebration for the group to show her thanks, which helps her bond with them more.
After the celebration, as Rudeus returns home, he comes across his two sisters and their mystery bodyguard—Ruijerd. In his letter, Paul mentions that while Aisha is similar to Rudeus, Norn is different and does not like him. Moreover, she doesn’t get along with Aisha either. Rudeus gets a first-hand experience of what Paul meant as he meets his two sisters arguing with each other at his door.
Meanwhile, the young mage notices Ruijerd, the Superd that accompanied him and Eris across the Demon Continent. With Ruijerd knowing the relationship between Rudeus and Eris, Rudeus is sure to have memories about his time with him and Eris, and possibly even his distasteful last encounter with Eris. While Ruijerd comes with goodwill, he may invoke some of Rudeus’ less fond memories. Fans can only wait to see what role Ruijerd will play, whether or not he will be re-entering the main storyline, and how Rudeus adapts to taking care of his sisters.
