Naruto: 10 Characters Who Can Beat Itachi Uchiha

These characters from the Naruto anime could potentially beat Itachi Uchiha in a fight.

It has been nearly a decade since Naruto ended, and it still has a massive global following. Naruto became one of the most popular anime and manga series of all time because it has great action and characters. Itachi Uchiha was a villain for most of the series, but when the truth was revealed, he was seen as a hero who wished to protect his home and little brother.

Itachi mastered the Sharingan at a young age, and he awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan when he was a teenager. He was a genjutsu master, and he could use the Amaterasu’s black flames to burn anything. His Susanoo was said to be invincible because it wielded the Yata Mirror, which could block any attack, and the Totsuka Blade, which could pierce anything. That being said, there are a few characters who could actually beat him.

10 Jiraiya

Jiraiya may be a pervert, but he is one of Naruto’s smartest characters, and he is one of the strongest ninjas that the Hidden Leaf Village has ever produced. He could use most Nature Transformations, and he could summon powerful toads to fight by his side. He could also use Sage Mode – which enhances his strength, speed, and reflexes.

Itachi and Kisame encountered Jiraiya after they infiltrated the Leaf Village in search of Naruto, and Jiraiya stared straight into Itachi’s eyes and said he would kill them both. Itachi had Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and presumably the Susanoo at his disposal, but he knew Jiraiya could still beat him, which is why he told Kisame to retreat.

9 Madara Uchiha

Itachi may have been a prodigy, but Madara was the strongest Uchiha in history. His Fire Release could incinerate an entire battlefield, and his visual prowess allowed him to take down dozens of allied shinobi at once with hand-to-hand combat. Both Madara and Itachi can use the Susanoo for defense and offense, so they are equal in that regard.

Unfortunately, Madara also possessed the Rinnegan – which allowed him to absorb ninjutsu, including Itachi’s Amaterasu. By using the Rinnegan and Susanoo at the same time, Madara can call meteors down from space to flatten Itachi. As the 10-Tails’ Jinchuriki, Madara could use Limbo to create physical clones that even Itachi’s eyes cannot see.

8 Mu

Mu served as the Stone Village’s 2nd Tsuchikage, and he was known as the “Non-Person” because he had the ability to fully conceal his physical presence and chakra signature. Even Itachi’s eyes would not be able to track him, which means that Mu can set up a deadly surprise attack.

Mu is one of the only two ninjas who can use Dust Release – an extremely rare Nature Transformation which allows him to create and fire a three-dimensional object. Once this object reaches a target, it expands and disintegrates anything caught inside. Even Itachi’s Susanoo cannot stop this.

7 Hagoromo Otsutsuki

As the Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo is credited with creating the ninja world, and he was able to use the Sharingan and Rinnegan. He learned how to use Sage Mode, and when he combined it with his Six Paths chakra, he could produce ten Truth-Seeking Balls. These balls can move very quickly, and they can turn Itachi to dust if they touch him.

Itachi’s Susanoo may have the Totsuka Blade, but Hagoromo has the Sword of Nunoboko. This double-helix-shaped sword is created from a Truth-Seeking Ball, and it has the power to destroy the world, which means that the Yata Mirror wielded by Itachi’s Susanoo cannot block it.

6 Shisui Uchiha

When he was alive, Shisui was the most skilled Uchiha among his peers, and even Itachi admitted that he was stronger than him. Shisui mastered the Sharingan at a young age. The Body Flicker Technique made tracking his movements impossible. He could even create physical afterimages that could attack.

Thanks to his Mangekyo Sharingan, Shisui could use the Kotoamatsukami, which is considered to be the highest caliber genjutsu. It is a subtle form of mind control, and if Shisui used it on him, he can force Itachi to abandon the fight. He could also make Itachi fall into a trap willingly.

5 Might Guy

Might Guy may not be proficient in ninjutsu and genjutsu, but he is a taijutsu master who learned how to fight against the Sharingan. He realized that he could fight a Sharingan user by focusing on just their feet. Itachi admitted that Guy was dangerous when he and Kisame encountered him in the Leaf Village.

Guy could open all Eight Inner Gates, and in doing so, he temporarily becomes more powerful than the Five Kage. He released all Eight Gates against Madara during the war, nearly killing Uchiha. Madara only survived because he had inhuman regeneration courtesy of the 10-Tails, which is something Itachi does not possess.

4 Pain

Pain was the Akatsuki’s leader, and thanks to his six bodies, he could overwhelm his opponents. They shared a field of vision, which makes hitting one of them very difficult. The Animal Path can summon large creatures, while the Asura Path can use actual missiles.

Thanks to the Preta Path, Pain can absorb Itachi’s ninjutsu. The Deva Path can manipulate repulsive and attractive forces, which Pain used to destroy the Leaf Village. Even if Itachi were able to take a body down, the Naraka Path can bring them back.

3 Minato Namikaze

Hashirama was the 1st Hokage, and decades after his death, he is still considered a ninja god. He could use Sage Mode and heal himself without using hand signs, but more importantly, he could use Wood Release. Thanks to these abilities, he was the only ninja who could beat Madara.

With Wood Release, Hashirama can restrain Itachi and drain his chakra. Itachi’s Susanoo may be powerful, but Hashirama can beat it with Sage Art Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands. The massive wooden statue could overpower the Nine-Tails while it was encased with Madara’s perfect Susanoo.

1 Kaguya Otsutsuki

Kaguya was Naruto’s final villain, as well as its strongest. She came to Earth to create a Chakra Fruit for Isshiki, but she betrayed him so she could take the power for herself. She may have been a low-ranking Otsutsuki, but in terms of power, she was basically a god.

If she wanted to, she could simply trap Itachi in another dimension, and he would not be able to escape because he does not have a Rinnegan. She can absorb any of his ninjutsu, and she can manipulate her bones like Kimimaro. With the All-Killing Ash Bones Technique, she can produce hardened bones, and if they were to pierce Itachi, he would disintegrate.
