Netflix’s One Piece Live Action series is just around the corner and will be released later this month. Fans are already eagerly waiting in anticipation for Luffy and the gang to set out on their adventure in the live-action series. One Piece is a story filled with beautiful storytelling, incredible world-building, and, of course, magical power sources.

The biggest power system that fans see in the series is Devil Fruits. These fruits grant mystical powers to those who eat them in exchange for their ability to swim. While Devil Fruits are very rare in the four blues, fans will still see quite a few of their users and Netflix’s One Piece Live Action season 1.

4 Alvida

Alvida is the captain of the Alvida Pirates and she is likely going to be the very first antagonist that stands in Luffy’s way after he sets out on his journey. Alvida is believed to be a powerful pirate and she even has a bounty of 5 million berries on her head, which is quite high for the East Blue. When Luffy first encounters her, she does not have any Devil Fruit power, however, she reappears in the series later on. During the Loguetown arc, Alvida shows up again, at least in the anime and the manga. There, fans finally find out that she has consumed a Devil Fruit called the Sube Sube no Mi.

This Devil Fruit belongs to the Paramecia class and thus, it alters her body. The Sube Sube no Mi gives Alvida the power of incredibly smooth skin. In fact, her skin becomes so smooth that everything slips right off it. She cannot take physical damage. In fact, even friction doesn’t work on her and she can simply slide on the ground if she so wishes. This Devil Fruit is very unique and fans hope to see more of it in the live-action series than they did in the original story.

3 Buggy

The captain of the Buggy Pirates, Buggy the Clown is one of the most important antagonists who will show up in Netflix’s One Piece Live Action season 1. Fans are incredibly excited to see Buggy play an important role in the story. Buggy appears as the main antagonist in the Orange Town arc and there, it is revealed that he has a Devil Fruit power shortly after he engages in combat with Zoro. With his powers, Buggy is able to deeply wound Zoro and, in doing so, the clown becomes the second Devil Fruit user to be revealed in the series, after Luffy.

Buggy is later revealed to have a deep history with Shanks as well and as a result, Luffy ends up disposing of him. Before that, however, his Devil Fruit powers are explained to the fans properly. Buggy also possesses a Devil Fruit of the Paramecia class and he has eaten the Bari Bari no Mi. This Devil Fruit allows him to split his body up into many parts and control them within a certain sphere that centers around his feet. In fact, Buggy’s fruit also makes him impervious to slashing attacks, as he can easily chop any part of his body at any time.

2 Luffy

Luffy is the protagonist of the series and the very first Devil Fruit user that fans see in One Piece. This is going to be the same in Netflix’s One Piece Live Action series as well. Luffy ate his Devil Fruit at a very young age after Shanks secured it from a marine vessel. Mistaking it for dessert, Luffy ends up consuming it and gains the power of the Gomu Gomu no Mi. This Devil Fruit is quite powerful and also belongs to the Paramecia class. It has turned Luffy’s body into rubber permanently.

While this doesn’t seem like a great ability at first, the way Luffy uses it is certainly unique. Luffy becomes impervious to blunt force and gains the ability to stretch as far as he wants. Training this ability throughout his childhood has made Luffy into one of the strongest pirates in the East Blue. Fans will see Luffy put on quite a show with his Gomu Gomu no Mi in the first season of the One Piece Live Action series and as the story moves on, he is only going to get better and stronger.

1 Smoker

Captain Smoker Smoking

Smoker is one of the most powerful Marines that fans see in the East Blue Saga of One Piece. Sadly, it has not been confirmed yet whether Smoker will appear in Netflix’s One Piece Live Action Season 1 or not, however, if the story does follow the anime and the manga, Smoker absolutely has to be there. Smoker is introduced to the fans during the Loguetown arc as the primary antagonist. He is revealed to be a marine who has never let any pirate go from Loguetown, and much of that is down to his Devil Fruit power.

Smoker is revealed to be a user of a Logia type of Devil Fruit. His Devil Fruit is called the Moku Moku no Mi, and it grants him the ability to transform into smoke at will. It also allows Smoker to create as well as manipulate smoke as he likes. Above all, Smoker gains an intangible body that cannot be hit by physical blows. Fans see him put this power into use when he defeats Luffy effortlessly. His powers are surely dangerous and the strongest that the fans will get to see in Netflix’s One Piece Live Action season 1, if he hasn’t been cut out from the show entirely.
