Summary
- The Witcher season 4 casts Christopher Sciueref as Cahir’s father, Ceallach aep Gruffyd.
- Actor Aaron Zicman joins as young Cahir, and other talents like Gareth David-Lloyd will feature.
- The show seems scheduled for a post-production release before summer 2025, accompanied by an animated film.
Netflix’s The Witcher has been one of the streaming service’s most popular fantasy shows, and even though it’s returning release date may be a while away yet, season four has cast a star from another beloved series, The Wheel of Time. Spawning both prequel series’ The Witcher: Blood Origin and an animated film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, the franchise shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon, especially since The Witcher 4 video game developed by CD Projekt Red has gone into full production.
It hasn’t been plain sailing for the adaptation created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich since it replaced its beloved Henry Cavill in season four with The Hunger Games star, Liam Hemsworth. Many fans saw Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt as the only face of the monster slayer and over the span of his appearance in three seasons of The Witcher, the Superman star accumulated a mass of devoted followers. In what seemed like a cruel twist of the knife, Kim Bodina, who played Geralt’s mentor and fellow witcher Vesemir in season two, also left The Witcher due to other commitments. However, the show must go on and, so far, The Witcher season four has a host of incredibly talented actors joining its cast as they dive deep into post-production.

The Witcher Season 4 Casts Cahir’s Father, Ceallach Aep Gruffyd
According to Redanian Intelligence, the all-knowing eye of all things The Witcher, Wheel of Time actor, Christopher Sciueref, will play Ceallach aep Gruffyd when season four returns. The seasoned actor has previously jumped into the shoes of roles that include Abell Cauthon in Amazon’s The Wheel of Time, as well as starring in movies and other series like Mission Impossible 7, 300: Rise of an Empire, The Last Kingdom, and Vikings: Valhalla. This time, however, Sciueref will take on the character of Cahir’s father, a seneschal at the court of Emperor Emhyr var Emreis, and Lord of Darn Dyffra.
In The Witcher season three, fans saw Cahir return to the Nilfgaardian army but with a different state of mind after becoming a huge villain in the series as a loyal knight of Nilfgaard. Thankfully, his redemption arc kicked in when he finally realized his terrible acts after facing Ciri and telling her that he wanted to die for what he did to her. Although there isn’t much context on how or when Sciueref will appear as Cahir’s father, actor Aaron Zicman, who starred in House of the Dragon and Wicked, has been cast to play a young Cahir.
