Luffy is an incredibly powerful pirate and one of the most renowned ones in the world of One Piece right now. Ever since the beginning of his journey back in the East Blue, it was quite clear that Luffy would end up reaching the very top, given how his journey was shaping up to be. In the East Blue, he became the man with the highest known bounty at the time and as the journey continued, even the likes of Kuzan could tell that Luffy would become a major threat in the future.

Naturally, Luffy has continued to grow in terms of power and influence ever since, and currently, he is one of the Four Emperors of the Sea, with a bounty of 3 billion berries on his head. This bounty is immensely high, however, it certainly isn’t Luffy’s final bounty and there is still room for him to grow more infamous, potentially after the Egghead Island arc.

Luffy’s Bounty Increases In The New World

Luffy was extremely successful for the vast majority of his journey in the first half of the story. He went from 30 million to 100 million in a very short span of time and then acquired a 300 million beri bounty after the events of Enies Lobby. Following the Paramount War, it ended up shooting up to 400 million berries, which meant that Luffy was now an elite pirate. Luffy went into the New World with this 400 million beri bounty and he continued with this figure until he ran into Doflamingo in the Dressrosa arc. After the fall of Doflamingo, both Luffy and Law received 500 million beri bounties each and this was proof that he was now back in the game and growing in strength at a tremendous rate.

Luffy then went on to challenge Big Mom and her crew in the Whole Cake Island arc and ended up with a bounty of 1.5 billion berries after he toppled two of her three strongest commanders and challenged her as well, leaving her forces battered. Luffy headed into Wano with an incredible reputation as the Fifth Emperor of the Sea and this proved to be the biggest challenge for him so far in his life, as he was up against the strongest creature in the entire world, Kaido. Leading a massive army into war, Luffy finally ascended to the elite pirate level after he crushed Kaido and received a massive reward for it.

After the fall of Kaido, Luffy is now officially recognized as one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. He is the one replacing Kaido as an immensely powerful pirate and currently, Luffy has now got a bounty of 3 billion berries on his head. This bounty is equal to that of Law and Kid, who combined to defeat Big Mom, however, every fan knows that Luffy is stronger than those two and, thus, should be getting a much higher bounty. Another reason why Luffy’s bounty is lower is that the World Government possibly does not want to fuel the idea of Nika returning once more.

As one of the Four Emperors of the Sea, Luffy is feared all over the world, and in Wano, specifically, he is hailed as a hero on par with Ryuma himself. After the events of Wano wrapped up, Luffy headed to Egghead Island, the island of the future. There, Luffy met Vegapunk and decided to take him to safety as he was being targeted by the Government. Immediately after, it was made clear that Egghead Island would soon be under attack, and currently, Luffy is faced by a mighty force, much bigger than a Buster Call, that is looking to kill Vegapunk as well as destroy him in the process. Oda has highlighted this to be an event that shakes the world of One Piece to its very core and fans are incredibly excited to see what happens at the end of it.

Luffy’s Role In The Egghead Incident

The Egghead incident is yet another big event that Luffy will now take part in. Given that he is faced with a massive fleet that puts even the Buster Call to shame, Luffy is certainly going to gain more infamy after this event wraps up. Currently, 100 ships surround Egghead Island, and among those ships are 20 Navy battleships. On those ships are 30,000 men in total and they also include nine Vice Admirals as well as one of the three Admirals, Kizaru. Furthermore, to add even more tension to the arc, one of the Five Elders, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, is also present.

The Egghead Incident is going to be an incredibly massive war being fought between the Yonko crew of the Straw Hat Pirates and this Marine group. Given that all the Yonko groups have won their respective battles in this arc, fans expect Luffy to emerge victorious as well, even though the odds are against him. One interesting scenario here could be that the Navy is destroyed and Saturn is defeated as well and that they end up being captured by either the Straw Hats or the Blackbeard Pirates. The Cross Guild could also get involved in this as they have placed bounties on Marine heads and potentially even on the Five Elders. It will be interesting for the fans to see how this plays out, however, if Luffy were to win this war, his infamy would shoot through the roof and he would certainly be deserving of a higher bounty.

Gaining higher bounties for Emperors is not something that is unheard of. For instance, when Blackbeard became one of the Yonko, he had a bounty of 2.246 billion berries. This figure has only continued to grow ever since. When he was introduced to the fans after Wano, his bounty was revealed to be 3.996 billion berries, which shows a staggering increase in his reward. If Blackbeard can grow significantly in bounty without even doing something as major as taking part in the Egghead Incident, then certainly Luffy deserves a higher bounty after potentially taking down an Admiral of the Navy and a member of the Five Elders as well.

Currently, Luffy has a bounty of 3 billion berries and it wouldn’t be a surprise for the fans to see his bounty skyrocket to a figure closer to 4 billion berries. Bounties rise slowly after a certain point and one cannot expect Luffy’s Bounty to double. Instead, the increments from here onwards will be smaller, however, not non-existent. Luffy could potentially get a bounty in the range of 3.6 to 4 billion berries. It must be remembered that Shanks is the Yonko with the highest bounty at the moment. When Luffy meets Shanks, his bounty will likely be lower than his, as it usually is when he fights against a strong enemy. Shanks currently has a bounty of 4.0489 billion berries and that means whatever bounty Luffy ends up receiving should be lower than that.

That said, Luffy’s bounty could easily be 4 billion berries after the Egghead Incident. It could also be slightly less than 4 billion berries and still makes sense. While Blackbeard, who is also Luffy’s nemesis, would then have a bounty lower than him, fans must remember that 3.9 billion berries is likely not his final bounty. Blackbeard is not done gaining infamy and his final bounty is likely going to be much higher. As for Luffy, gaining a new bounty after the events of Egghead Island is almost certain and fans will see their favorite emperor shoot up the ranks once again.
