As many One Piece fans now know, the One Piece manga is going on a lot more breaks than before. However, One Piece will have a whopping 3 consecutive chapters for the first time in quite a while.
The first one of the three has already been released, dropping last Sunday, on 19 January 2025. The chapter featured was One Piece 1136.
This upcoming Sunday, which will be January 26, 2025, fans will get another One Piece chapter in 1137. This will be the last chapter of January, but there’s still more to come.
It has now been confirmed that One Piece will not be going on break next week, which means that fans will get three chapters in a row. One Piece Chapter 1138 will fall on February 2, 2025.
The Sunday after this one, however, that is, February 9, One Piece will likely go on a break. The manga will quickly resume the week after the break, on February 16.
Why Oda Has Been Taking So Many Breaks
Oda’s Health And Live Action Have Been Adding To It
The year of 2024 was the one with the most breaks in One Piece’s history. Oda took more breaks that year than ever before. That is due to multiple reasons, but a major one was Oda’s health issues. Indeed, writing a manga is not an easy job, and it takes a toll on the mangaka, and Oda is not immune to that. One Piece is a very long series, and Oda has had to suffer many health issues, especially in the last year.
Oda also wanted to be involved with the One Piece Live Action, which led to him taking breaks. As many fans know, Season 2 of the Live Action was being filmed in 2024.
Oda also just wants to take more breaks in general to maintain a healthy schedule. One Piece is a lot of work, and fans should be glad Oda can have time to recover to come back and deliver his weekly chapters.
It’s likely that 2025 will also have a lot of breaks throughout, but perhaps not as many as 2024.
