Now, fans know a lot more about the world of One Piece than they did previously, and it is safe to say that Oda is only just getting started. In particular, more information will most certainly be provided about the two previous destructions of the world, which were first mentioned by the Herley, and the final destruction, which is to follow in the future of the One Piece world.

The very first destruction of the One Piece world is something that the fans know very little about. In fact, it was mentioned only recently in the story by none other than Elder Jarul of Elbaf. According to Jarul, the land of Elbaf has thrown ancient scripture, called Harley. This scripture is so old that it cannot even be translated properly anymore and, consequently, there are multiple variations in the meanings of the text. According to the text, the world of One Piece has already been destroyed twice. Each time the world was destroyed, the name of the Sun God Nika was present with it, meaning Nika was surely involved in these major events. The first time the world of One Piece was destroyed was long ago, likely way before the Void Century.

It is unknown what threat the world faced at the time. What’s known is that the One Piece world faced an existential crisis and essentially went on to be destroyed. A massive threat was posed by someone or something, and the one to fight against this threat was none other than the Sun God, Nika. This was the very first Sun God to have existed in the world. This Sun God was a Giant, and he hailed from the land of Nika. Fans know Nika to have been massively powerful, and he wielded a sword and shield in combat. Given that he was a giant with rubber powers, it is highly likely that the sword seen in Elbaf is actually a belonging of the Sun God.
As far as who the Sun God fought at this time goes, fans don’t know much. It could be that the Sun God fought none other than the Sea Devil itself, or a user of the Sea Devil power. This makes sense, given that things could then be established to have continued in cycles, with Joy Boy and Imu to have followed it, and now Luffy and Imu being the next ones. Hopefully, Oda will shed more light on this destruction of the world.

Joy Boy and the Ancient Kingdom Fought In The Void Century
The second destruction of the world is something that fans certainly do know quite a bit about, especially after Vegapunk’s message in the Egghead Arc of the story. Joy Boy was born in a bountiful kingdom long ago with great scientific advancements. Their advancements could’ve threatened those around them, or it could simply be that they didn’t see eye to eye. Many kings of the One Piece world joined forces to create a group called The Alliance. This alliance fought against the Ancient Kingdom and destroyed them eventually, killing Joy Boy in the process. This war lasted for 100 years and ended with the death of the second Nika, Joy Boy. Before dying, however, Joy Boy left behind, or at least passed on, the One Piece, foretelling that 800 years later, someone carrying his will would show up.

The founding members of the Alliance then came to be known as the Gods of the world, and their descendants are what are currently known as the Celestial Dragons. Ever since the end of the Void Century, the World Government has maintained its grasp on everything, ruling with an iron fist. The person primarily responsible for it all is Saint Imu Nerona, who was one of the Founding 20 himself. Imu somehow made it to the top, claiming his place atop the Empty Throne. The Five Elders are Imu’s loyal subordinates, and to this day, they continue to rule the world as they’re immortal, likely through utilizing the power of the Ope Ope no Mi.

The second destruction of the world was catastrophic and it saw to a rise of 200 meters in the sea level. Several countries were completely inundated, and at the same time, countless lives were lost.
The face of the earth was changed entirely, and all that was left were tiny islands, which are currently known to be places in the Grand Line.

While the world of One Piece has already been destroyed twice, as has been mentioned in the ancient scripture of Harley, fans know that another destruction is to follow. This was clearly mentioned by Vegapunk, who stated that the world is going to sink very soon. In fact, the world has already started sinking and this is largely down to the usage of Ancient Weapons—first triggered by none other than Imu I’m an attempt to destroy Lulucia. The Ancient Weapons possess tremendous power and they will be utilized one more time. As that happens, fans know that the world will inevitably sink. This will likely happen around the time when Luffy becomes the Pirate King, because his battle against the World Government is soon to follow.
To avert this disaster, steps are surely going to be taken, and fans know already that Vegapunk is working on creating artificial Sky Islands, which will surely benefit the people of the world greatly when the sinking starts taking place. This time around, Luffy will be a central figure in the sinking of the world, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what ends up happening as the story moves forward.
Of course, Luffy has to save the world in one way or another, and as that happens, fans will certainly get to see exciting developments take place in the series, and a major war that Oda himself promised would make Marineford look like a joke. All that will be centered around the upcoming Great War, and fans simply have to wait patiently for it to unfold, which is only a matter of time now, given that One Piece is already in its final saga.
