Yoichi Nagumo is a dangerous assassin who comes from a family of spies. When he was just 14 years old, he joined Japan Clear Creation, an academy for aspiring killers that is popular for its rigorous assassin-training program. That’s when he met Taro, and the two teenagers became close friends. They also befriended Rion Akao around the same time. The trio was notorious for being troublemakers, but they were also meritorious students whose talents were unmatched by their peers.
Before I retired, I used my strength to hurt people. Now, I use it to protect the people I love.
The Japan Clear Creation days were some of the best days of Nagumo’s life, as he made a lifelong friend and gained immense experience by collaborating with others. Although the academy has a 10% graduation rate, Yoichi could have passed with flying colors, along with Rion and Taro. But fate had other plans for the trio as they got expelled because of their unending fights and behavioral issues.
Later, Rion, Taro, and Yoichi took the dangerous mission to kill Kindaka, the founding member of the Order, to have their expulsion voided. Although they failed the assignment, the three friends were offered a chance to join the Order after Kindaka recognized their talent. These experiences helped the young assassins cement their reputations as exceptional killers who can take on dangerous missions. Nagumo’s friendship with Sakamoto only deepened in the following years. However, even after Taro’s retirement, he kept working with the Order.

Yoichi Nagumo arrived at Sakamoto’s store unannounced to inform him about the bounty on his head in advance, to ensure that he was safe. Even after years of Taro’s retirement, Nagumo continues to look after his old friend, which speaks volumes about his perspective on friendship and loyalty. Even while working as an assassin with some of the most dangerous people in the country, Yoichi regularly goes against conventional wisdom by prioritizing personal bonds over professional obligations. When he lost someone close to him, he went to absurd lengths to investigate their case, putting his life, peace of mind, and money on the line.

Nagumo is known for his bright smile and carefree nature. Even in the midst of intense battles and life-threatening circumstances, he manages to crack a joke and retains his playful nature. But his personality is not easy to handle for everyone, as his endless antics could prove to be intolerably annoying. Nagumo has a laid-back attitude towards life, which is surprising given the deadly profession he is part of and the constant threat to life he faces.

When Nagumo met Sakamoto to inform him about the bounty, he appeared in front of him in a disguise that was almost impossible to see through. His ability to change appearances without taking much time makes him a deadly adversary who can slip out of any situation unnoticed. Since Yoichi is proficient in using Morse code, he can communicate discreetly even in precarious circumstances. This should not come as a surprise, considering his history of being involved in intellectually stimulating environments that pushed him to adapt or perish.
Assasins don’t go to heaven.
When it comes to combat knowledge and skill, very few assassins in the world are on par with Yoichi Nagumo. His ruthless fighting style leaves no room for error for his adversaries, who are often overwhelmed by his attacks. Nagumo’s agility, endurance, reflexes, and strength are exceptional, allowing him to thrive even in the most dangerous situations. He is also an expert marksman, who is rated highly for his precision and accuracy in using a variety of weapons.
Yoichi Nagumo has a deadly combination of varied abilities at his disposal that has allowed him to rise through the ranks and become one of the most feared assassins in all of Japan. Years of rigorous training and dedication have been a key reason for his success, but what makes Nagumo truly stand out among his peers is his unwavering loyalty to his friends. In a profession like his, trust is a rare commodity, and yet Yoichi goes against all conventional wisdom to value it above all else, including his own life.
