When Lazarus is released, it will be compared to the director’s previous works, which will negatively affect the anime’s popularity. So, viewers should keep an open mind when they watch Lazarus.

Lazarus takes place in the future. In the year 2052, Dr. Skinner comes up with a miracle drug that changes the world. Almost everyone consumes the drug, but they soon realize that they have been tricked. In 2055, Dr. Skinner reveals that the drug has a life of three and a half years, and anyone who has consumed it will die. This results in the creation of a special task force whose objective is to track down Skinner and find a vaccine.

Lazarus will be available to stream on Adult Swim.
