Summary
- Zero Day stars Robert De Niro in a Netflix drama about a US cyberattack
- Daredevil: Born Again is a new Disney+ series tied to the MCU, continuing the Netflix show.
- Alien: Earth on FX explores the Weyland-Yutani Corporation and Xenomorphs on Earth.
When talking about the 2025 TV shows we’re most excited for, the list is simply too long to put into one article. One look at all the series that are supposed to air next year makes it clear there’s going to be some very good television, even if most of the best series, like The Last Of Us Season 2 will be consumed on streaming services more than on traditional television networks.
In the interest of pairing down this list into something that’s actually digestible, there are a few rules to be followed. The first is that the show must be debuting in 2025. This leaves off highly anticipated shows like Severance and of course, The Last of Us Season 2. Those are obviously seasons we’re very excited about, but for this list, it’s Season 1 only. That still leaves a ton of different shows that qualify. This list is the cream of the crop. The programs that will be appointment viewing when they finally arrive, for one reason or another.

Deniro hasn’t done a whole lot of television. He’s done even fewer actually TV series and that’s just one of the reasons why it’s exciting to think about him starring as former US President George Mullen, who leads the Zero Day Commission to investigate the cyberattack. Luckily, Netflix audiences won’t have to wait long as Zero Day is coming on February 20.

Ok, so technically, someone could argue that this is not an original series, as it’s technically a continuation of the long ago canceled Netflix series. But it’s also brand new and on a new network and will have the full force of Marvel behind it. Daredevil: Born Again also will have many of the same characters, but likely won’t pick up where the Netflix show ended but will instead pick up where the MCU has left off.
Daredevil and Matt Murdock have been slowly but surely brought into the MCU with a few appearances here and there. Now he’s getting his own show for the first time since 2018. And with the show being tied to the MCU, the audience could be getting some more looks at characters besides Daredevil and Kingpin.

Release Date | TBA 2025 |
It: Welcome to Derry is an upcoming American horror television series developed by Andy and Barbara Muschietti alongside Jason Fuchs. It is a prequel to the films It (2017) and It Chapter Two (2019), which is based on Stephen King’s 1986 novel It.
