Joining a long line of recently announced anime themed cafes, Tokyo Revengers has been added to the mix. This new limited cafe will be hosted by the Capcom Cafe in Ikebukuro, Tokyo and Umeda, Osaka starting from the end of August and running through October. The cafe will feature food and drinks based on the anime Tokyo Revengers, along with exclusive merchandise from the series.
Tokyo Revengers continues to be one of the most popular anime in Japan right now. The anime began airing in April 2021, and is still ongoing. The third season of the anime is set to premier in October 2023, following the Tenjiku Arc from the manga. The story follows Takemichi as he desperately tries to save his ex-girlfriend’s life by traveling to the past and changing events – with different consequences to navigate each time.
The Tokyo Revengers cafe will run for about six weeks, and while not all the details have been released at this time, part of the menu was revealed this past week on PR Times. The main dishes are a Black Dragon Curry, which is two kinds of curry to represent Inupi and Koko, and Takemichi and Chifuyu’s Buddy Plate, which has a sandwich with yakisoba (Chifuyu’s favorite) and a side of potato chips (Takemichi’s favorite).
For dessert, there will be Mikey’s Sweets Plate, which has a crepe shaped like a letter that he sent to the past, along with a photo of the gang from that time. For people wanting something a bit smaller, there is also Chifuyu’s Banana Yogurt Parfait, which is blue like his eyes, and Manjiro Sano’s Reunion White Latte, which is more of a coffee jelly milkshake done all in black and white. Finally, there is one themed drink – Koko’s Gold & Ginger Champagne, which has gold leaf and ginger ale.
There are still several menu items that have not yet been released. We only know the names, which are Mikey’s Kid’s Lunch (Christmas Edition), Umbrella Ckae, and Chifuyu and Peke J’s Crepe Mini Parfait. We will have to just imagine for now what they are going to look like until the full menu is released when the cafe opens! As in usual for themed cafes in Japan, each menu item will also come with one random specifically designed coaster (there are 10 in total), and for the Tokyo Revengers cafe, one postcard (10 designs in total) will be given for every ¥3000 ($20.70 USD) spent on the cafe menu.
The timing for the Tokyo Revengers cafe couldn’t be better! It will end just as the third season of the anime is set to start, so in the lead up to waiting for the anime to begin, fans can enjoy the cafe. And then, right after they get hyped and excited from their themed dishes and new merchandise, a new season of the anime will begin to air! Theme cafes usually come after the anime has already finished, but this timing definitely works, too, since the characters in Tokyo Revengers are already known and loved by so many people.
The Tokyo Revengers cafe will open at the Capcom Cafe in Ikebukuro and Umeda August 25, 2023, and run until October 5, 2023.
