Comparing some of the most famous characters from well-known animes can be difficult to do, especially in the context of Dragon Ball and Naruto. Vegeta is one of the most powerful characters in Dragon Ball, even defeating some incredibly strong opponents as a Saiyan Elite. Then there’s Sasuke, Naruto’s longtime friend and rival, who possesses his own special abilities that not many can utilize in the Naruto universe.
As these two characters both have impressive abilities and resilience, there is much to compare to see which of the two would come out on top. Despite their status as secondary characters to the leads of Naruto and Goku, they are not to be underestimated when up against others in battle.

Durability
Which Of The Two Can Last Longer?
Close
When considering Vegeta’s durability, there are quite a few abilities that need to be taken into account. This includes his base durability and additional forms, such as Super Saiyan Blue, Ultra Ego, and items that he can use, like Senzu Beans. There are many instances throughout Dragon Ball where Vegeta barely falters in battle, including surviving a Spirit Bomb, taking a kick from Super Saiyan 2 Goku that sends him flying, and much more. He has incredibly impressive superhuman durability, and even when he is almost out of energy, he can utilize recovery methods, such as taking Senzu Beans to restore his health almost fully.
As for Sasuke, he can easily defend himself and sustain his durability in battle through Chakra. He also has the ability to heal himself a bit through his Rinnegan, though it usually takes some time to recover fully. Sasuke has shown incredibly strong willpower, surviving the Curse Mark bite from Orochimaru, and still choosing to battle despite the immense amount of pain he was in. Not to mention, Sasuke is constantly battling his rival, Naruto, who often sends him flying with powerful punches into rock formations, only to survive it without much of an issue. He is surprisingly quite the tank for a human being.
Durability Winner – Vegeta
Vegeta inches out Sasuke in this one, due to the sheer speed at which he is able to recover his health, and his ability to transform into his Super Saiyan Blue and Ultra Ego forms, practically making him indestructable at times.
Speed
Who Can Use Their Speed To Their Advantage?
Close
Vegeta can easily outrun just about anyone in the Dragon Ball universe. His flight speed is comparable to Goku’s, and he moves so fast that hills begin crumbling, and nearby water lifts around him. Even while in battle, he can easily dodge ki blasts, and can avoid attacks from Zarbon to the point where it feels like Zarbon isn’t moving towards him. Eventually, Vegeta even learns the Instant Transmission ability, which allows him to immediately arrive at his desired location.
It is said that Sasuke can move faster than the speed of sound. When up against Zaku during the Chunin Exam, he is able to easily dodge his jutsu attacks that move at the speed of sound, while also being able to grab Naruto and Sakura and take no hits. He has also been able to quickly climb up a tree and grab Naruto as he is falling before he hits the ground. Sasuke has impressive speed overall, and is able to easily dodge attacks from enemies and respond with his own moves that can quickly take anyone out.
Speed Winner: Vegeta
While Sasuke’s speed is certainly nothing to scoff at, it just can’t compare to Vegeta’s Instant Transmission. If they were both attempting to get to the same location, Vegeta would get there immediately, leaving Sasuke in the dust.

Intelligence
Who Can Outsmart The Other?
Close
Vegeta is not only a powerful opponent, but he also possesses impressive tactical thinking. During the Tournament of Power, he is able to plan his strategies against his opponents such as Jiren and Goku Black. He is able to think ahead as if his battles are a game of chess, and he can easily create impressive combat techniques. When it comes to learning advanced techniques, like God Ki or Instant Transmission, he is able to quickly pick up on these and add them to his arsenal of abilities.
Intelligence is something that Sasuke is known for. He has practically no issue picking up on ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijustu techniques, whereas Naruto struggles at first. He is able to easily analyze his opponents and their upcoming attacks and use counterattacks to retaliate. Sasuke can use his foresight to ensure he is always two steps ahead of his opponent. He was able to master complex jutsu and techniques such as Chidori at a very young age, unlike his peers, and even outside of battle, he is well-read and knowledgeable in the history of the Shinobi.
Intelligence Winner: Sasuke
While Vegeta is certainly intelligent, Sasuke ultimately wins this battle due to his extensive knowledge of everything jutsu-related, and his ability to easily be ahead of his opponents. Not to mention he’s also well-studied outside of combat.
Skills and Strength
Which Of The Two Has Superior Abilities?
Close
Vegeta has the ability to take down many different opponents in direct combat. He can easily create attacks that cause the ground to shake with just a punch, and can end a person’s life through one singular chop. Often in the series, he has been shown to send multiple opponents flying with one movement, even when he is running low on power. He can also use a variety of transformations to enhance his strength, including Super Saiyan 3, Super Saiyan Blue, Ultra Ego, and more. One hit can easily take down his enemies.
Though Vegeta can use brute strength to his advantage, Sasuke has some impressive and stealthy abilities that can easily give him the upper hand in battle. He has a wide variety of abilities that can get him out of any situation, such as using shurikens with precise accuracy, using Sharingan to predict movements and copy others, and easily counterattack opponents. Even if his enemy is bigger and stronger than him, he can easily outsmart them and utilize his Sharingan and Rinnegan to outmaneuver them. Even in the department of brute strength, he has sent Naruto flying with a punch before, just like Vegeta.
Skills and Strength Winner: Sasuke
Sure, Vegeta may have impressive strength, but much of this can be outmaneuvered and avoided by Sasuke’s many abilities. Even if Vegeta does not have Chakra, Sasuke has shown he is able to put opponents under genjustsu despite this, and he can easily use this to take Vegeta down.

Track Record
Who Has Proven Their Abilities More Often In Battle?
Close
Finally, we need to consider how many times Vegeta has won a battle in the Dragon Ball universe. As the rival to Goku, of course, he is more likely to lose battles. However, he has won his fair share of battles as a Saiyan Elite early on, and he is even able to best Goku in the Saiyan Saga. We see him take down Android 19 as a Super Saiyan, Freiza Force members, and even Kid Buu (with Goku at his side). He shows massive improvement in Dragon Ball Super as well, defeating Toppo with ease in the Tournament of Power. However, he has been defeated frequently by Goku, Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu.
As a prodigy of the Uchiha Clan, Sasuke has had his fair share of wins in Naruto. He is one of the few incredibly talented shinobis, possessing the Sharingan, Mangekyo, and Rinnegan. He has been able to easily defeat Orochimaru, Haku, Danzo, and aids Naruto in taking down Kaguya Otsutsuki. Even during the Boruto era, he is still an incredibly impressive shinobi, defeating opponents such as Jigen and Momoshiki. Of course, he has had a few losses in his time as well, including being bested by Itachi, Killer Bee, and Naruto during their battle in the Valley of the End. However, his wins far outweigh his losses, due to his impressive tactical intelligence and powerful abilities.
Track Record Winner: Sasuke
Sasuke has certainly shown a higher rate of winning in battle than Vegeta. Although Sasuke is supposed to be second to his rival Naruto, he can still hold his own, even to the point where the two could be considered on equal ground. As for Vegeta, although he improves greatly overtime, he is still overtaken by the likes of Goku frequently.
Overall Winner: Sasuke

- Superior Tactical Intelligence
- Superior Techniques and Skills
- Superior Track Record and Fewer Losses
Though Vegeta possesses impressive strength, Sasuke would come out on top due to his variety of techniques, including genjutsu. He could easily trap Vegeta in an illusion, essentially making it impossible for him to even get a hit on Sasuke. It is highly likely that Sasuke will be able to mentally manipulate Vegeta, making his strength useless in battle. He could also use some space-time ninjutsu techniques with his Rinnegan, allowing him to teleport and avoid attacks and confuse Vegeta. Though Vegeta certainly has the potential, he is much slower at picking up new techniques and strategies, and would likely be outsmarted by Sasuke in the end.
