A large number of anime characters also fall into the monster and demon categories. When it comes to demonic characters, the men get most of the attention, but there are plenty of strong demonic women who also deserve recognition.

10 Kagura – InuYasha

8 Lucy – Elfen Lied
Lucy is the main protagonist and anti-hero of Elfen Lied – which is arguably one of the best horror anime of all time. She is one of the Diclonius, an evolutionary offshoot of humanity. From the moment they were born, the Diclonii have been at odds with humans, and at times they have threatened to destroy and replace all of humanity.
Like other members of her kind, Lucy has small horns that look like elf ears, and she possesses incredible telekinetic powers. She can manifest invisible arms called Vectors, and they can wipe out dozens of soldiers in minutes because they cut through things at a molecular level.
7 Albedo – Overlord
Overlord is set in a massive online role-playing game called YGGDRASIL, and Albedo is one of the highest-ranking NPCs who serve Ainz Ooal Gown. She is a demonic succubus who oversees the Floor Guardians that protect Ainz’s headquarters. Compared to other NPCs in her guild, she boasts the most powerful defensive power.
Albedo’s defense is virtually impregnable because she can transfer any damage she sustains to a piece of armor instead. She can withstand high-grade magic attacks and come out unscathed, but she can only use this ability three times a day. She is also a competent fighter who can deliver devastating punches.
6 Slan – Berserk
Berserk is a dark and violent series, and it features several demons and monsters like Slan. So far, Slan is the only female member of God Hand – a quinquevirate of demon lords who have orchestrated major events that have affected humanity and the universe as a whole.
Like other members, Slan was once human, but she attained her demon form during the sacrificial ceremony known as the Eclipse. She can see cause and effect, and she can manifest bodies and restless spirits. Berserker armor gives Guts superhuman physical capabilities, and she was able to remove it from Guts’ body with a single swipe of her hand.
5 Eto Yoshimura – Tokyo Ghoul
In Tokyo Ghoul, Ghouls are a carnivorous and cannibalistic humanoid species that usually feed on human flesh. They are usually four to seven times stronger than humans, and their eyes gain a terrifying red and black coloration. They also have a predatory organ called a Kagune – which provides them with incredible piercing power.
Eto Yoshimura is a best-selling horror novelist, but she is also known as the One-Eyed Owl. She is a half-ghoul and half-human hybrid, and her Kagune takes the form of multiple appendages that allow her to assume a monstrous form. She has superhuman speed, durability, and regeneration.
4 Derieri – The Seven Deadly Sins
The Demon Clan is one of the factions in The Seven Deadly Sins universe, and The Ten Commandments are the clan’s most elite warriors. They were all handpicked by the Demon King, who bestowed a unique ability on each member.
Derieri is the Purity of the Ten Commandments, and this power causes those around her to become ill if they perform any type of impure act in her presence. She is incredibly durable, and she has an innate ability called Combo Star. As long as she continues to attack without being interrupted, the force of her physical attacks will keep increasing.
3 Nezuko – Demon Slayer
Nezuko was an ordinary 12-year-old girl when Demon Slayer began, but she was transformed into a demon by Muzan Kibutsuji – the demon lord and progenitor. She received a large amount of Muzan’s blood, which explains why she is as strong as an Upper Moon demon.
She can assume a full demon form – which causes her body to become more mature. Her physical strength significantly increases, and she can regenerate serious injuries in a matter of seconds. Her Blood Demon Art is called Combustible Blood, and it allows her to turn her blood into a pinkish fire that only burns demons.
2 Priscilla – Claymore
In Claymore, humans have to deal with man-eating monsters called Yoma, and there is an organization that breeds special warriors that are tasked with killing these monsters. They create these warriors by implanting Yoma flesh and blood into their bodies.
Priscilla was once such a warrior, and she could eliminate dozens of Yoma without even using her powers. Like other Claymores, she had superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, and durability. She became an Awakened Being, and in doing so, she became a winged monster of death who could easily kill top-ranked Claymores and other Awakened Beings.
1 Makima – Chainsaw Man
Devils are the main threat in Chainsaw Man, and they are the physical manifestation of fear. When they are defeated by Devil Hunters, they return to Hell until reincarnated. Makima was a high-ranking Public Safety Devil Hunter who usually acts gentle and friendly.
In reality, she is the Control Devil, and she embodies the fear of being controlled or dominated. Her main power allows her to control any being who she deems to be inferior. She can use this power to force other Devils to make contracts with her so she can use their abilities. She can also control an invisible force that can damage people internally.
