Devilman Crybaby follows the same path as Berserk in terms of unapologetic bloody horror and gory action scenes. With the fate of mankind in the hands of a human boy posessed by a demon, but who managed to retain some sort of conscious, the battle for survival becomes absolutely out of the world.
Carnage, violence, fire and blood define this anime series that has been rated Mature, with severe levels of gore. It only has one season, and makes sense, since the ending doesn’t leave too much room for a sequel. Be it as it may, it might suit the taste of fans of Guts’ struggle to vanquish all demons.

The story of how Thorfin was ruthlessly trying to murder Askeladd after he killed his father, and how he manipulated the odds to turn the boy into a living weapon is the epitome of violence and gore. With bloody battle scenes that reflect the brutality of that historical period, but seen under a thin dark fantasy veil, is complex and engaging.
Many people start watching it because Thorfin’s character is so relatable that they somehow wish to see him finally finding his way back home. Others enjoy the sheer pleasure of carnage, since this anime is quite gory. Be it as it may, it is a fine representative of the genre, and a great option to watch if fans have finished Berserk.

Goblin Slayer is constantly rivaling with the most brutal dark fantasy anime series in terms of grit and gore, and since it has such an engaging worldbuilding based on a series of D&D homebrew campaigns, it makes sense that its main characters appeal so much to the audience who enjoys this genre.
Throughout its two seasons, fans will witness how a brutal man obsessed with exterminating all goblins in the world trains a younger and inexperienced adventurer (The Priestess) after saving her from a certain death at the hands of his worst enemies. With some sprinkling of humor, and a fast pacing, this series redefined fantasy anime with its brutal depiction of a world where the gods love to play dice, using the clueless mortals as pawns.

For those who haven’t seen Psycho-Pass, fair warning: there’s a before and after. This series is set in a dystopian future (not so different from the society we live in) where humans are implanted with sensors that can be scanned by the police, in a sort of Minority Report kind of situation where law enforcement decides if the persons are likely to comit crimes, and engage in a brutal and fast response to stop them before they do.
With a mixture of sci-fi, dark fantasy, and urban fantasy, this series is one of the best of the best. There are no ‘what ifs’ or ‘trigger-happy’ cops, but the gore abounds in their gritty action scenes, with lots of morally complex decisions and characters struggling to keep their minds sane in a world which has lost all composure.
