The world of Demon Slayer is filled with plenty of characters with different personalities and their interactions can be hilarious to watch. Among these characters, the most chaotic character is definitely the Beast King Inosuke Hashibira who managed to catch the attention of everyone with his deranged personality and rough appearance. Inosuke wears a boar’s head as part of his signature look, symbolizing his upbringing in the mountains and his Beast Breathing techniques, which he uses in battle.
He even behaves very much like a beast, being extremely aggressive during fights, even against terrifying demons, which shows how strong and fearless he is. As the series progresses, our Beast King improves drastically, improving his combat skills and maturing as a person. He also plays a very important role in the final arc, proving that he is worthy of getting the spotlight as one of the main characters in Kimetsu No Yaiba.

How The Beast King Became A Demon Slayer
Close
During the first few episodes when Inosuke is introduced in Demon Slayer, his story is completely unknown. However, as the series progresses, it is revealed that Inosuke’s upbringing was shaped by a traumatic past. He was raised by an abusive father, and his mother, seeking to protect him, fled with him to escape the cruelty of her husband.
His mother was then taken in by Doma, who at the time ran a cult called Paradise Faith. Inosuke’s mother was completely unaware of Doma’s true nature and that he was, in fact, a Demon. One day, she finds out that Doma actually ate his worshipers, which scares her. Fearing for their lives, she took Inosuke and tried to run away.
However, she met a dead end and found herself on the edge of a cliff. In order to save Inosuke, she threw him into the river and was eaten by Doma, while Inosuke survived and was raised by the boars of the forest. This is why he fights like an animal and is unaware of how to talk with others.
How Powerful Is Inosuke Hashibira In Demon Slayer
Close
Inosuke uses a very special form of breathing technique called the Beast Breathing. It is clearly distinct from all other sorts of breathing techniques like Water, Insect, or Flame breathing as it relies on an aggressive fighting style as compared to the rest which requires more of a composed and calm fighting stance.
Inosuke possesses insanely fast reflexes and can dodge attacks pretty quickly. He is also able to land counterattacks just as fast and powerful, l which is why he is capable of beating the strongest of demons. Even in terms of raw strength, Inosuke excels greatly and is considered by many a formidable opponent.
I may not know much about human emotions, but when it comes to fighting, I know I’ll win! I’ll fight until I die, no matter what! – Inosuke Hashibira
Another great quality of his that sets him apart from the rest of the corps is that he can dislocate his joints at will and fit through the smallest of spaces. During the entertainment district arc, when he fights Gyutaro, he rearranges his internal organs at will and saves him from the devastating blows of the demon.
His synchronization with Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Nezuko during this battle proved how great of character development he had, as he was mostly considered a lone wolf fighting his battles alone. It is also shown that you know it is not just brawn but also brains, as during the Mugen Train arc, he helps defeat the lower rank one demon by finding his weakness.
Interactions With Tanjiro, Nezuko And Zenitsu
Close
The first few interactions of Inosuke with Nezuko, Tanjiro, and Zenitsu were chaotic, to say the least. Especially with Tanjiro, he seems to think of him as more of a rival than a friend. But when danger lingered on their heads in the form of demons, he used every bit of his energy to protect the people around him.
It is true that Inosuke was considered more of a solo fighter during the first few arcs of Demon Slayer. But later on, he realized the importance of cooperation with the Demon Slayer corps and friendship which helped him improve greatly not just as a swordsman but also as a human.

The Important Fight Against Upper Moons And Muzan

During the final moments of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba, Inosuke plays a major role in defeating some of the most powerful demons, including Doma. After Doma successfully manages to kill the Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kocho, and absorbs her, he is confronted by Kanao Tsuyuri. However, Kanao is also overpowered by Doma. Just then, Inosuke arrives, breaking through the ceiling of the room, and protects Kanao from Doma’s devastating attacks using his Beast Breathing technique.
Even Doma compliments Inosuke on his amazing speed and power as they fight. It is also during this fight that Doma reveals how he had eaten Inosuke’s mother, which enrages him even more. Eventually, Doma gets weakened thanks to Shinobu’s poison, which helps Inosuke and Kanao slice his neck and ultimately defeat him.
Inosuke’s Role In Defeating Muzan
Close
Inosuke played a great role in the final battle against Muzan. This fight was perhaps the toughest battle Inosuke had ever faced because he was used to fighting alone. But to win against Muzan, a lot of teamwork was required, and Inosuke Hashibira did not fail to come through. He used all of his strength to land deadly strikes and help Tanjiro not lose his momentum against the devastating fight. He also manages to stop Muzan from fleeing away before dawn, which ultimately causes the downfall of the demon king.
Give them back! Their leg and arms! Their lives! Everything! Give them back! If you can’t do that… Then you’ll pay for it with a million deaths!” – Inosuke to Muzan
But the battle does not end there, as during this process Tanjiro becomes a demon himself. While on the verge of death, Muzan tries to make Tanjiro abandon his humanity and become a demon, but thanks to the strong support of Inosuke and all of his friends, Tanjiro manages to become human again. During this emotional moment, even Inosuke, who was shown to be extremely strong, starts crying. Inosuke’s character development is perhaps the best one in Demon Slayer Kimetsu No Yaiba, which is why he is loved by the fandom so much.
