While the first few chapters of the Elbaf arc have been of lower intensity, One Piece chapter 1137 all but confirms that a major war is set to follow and that Luffy and the crew will soon have their hands full with the mightiest and most noble knights in the entire world. Needless to say, One Piece chapter 1137 ensured that the fans were glued to their seats and were left wanting more, as this series simply keeps getting better with each passing chapter.
Luffy And The Straw Hats Explore Aurust Castle
- Road Takes Luffy, Zoro, and Nami Through The Castle
- New Lore On Hajrudin Is Revealed
Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates are currently aiming to get their hands on the key to Loki’s chains, and that’s something Oda already established in One Piece chapter 1136. This chapter was all about taking the crew one step closer to accomplishing just that, and fans absolutely loved the journey across the Aurust Castle that unfolded in One Piece chapter 1137. Although Road is a despicable character, he still had his moments as a useful individual, especially when flattered by Nami time and again. Fans got to see the battle marks from the clash that happened 6 years ago in Aurust Castle between Loki and King Harald, where 100 Giants of tremendous power fought, and at the end of it all, the only ones left standing were Loki and Elder Jarul. King Harald was confirmed to be the strongest King in the history of Elbaf, and at the same time, fans also got to see a proper look at his character design, which was certainly fitting for a man with as much conviction as him.
Oda also made sure to emphasize the vastness of Aurust Castle in One Piece chapter 1137, with each flip of the page showing fans the sense of scale in Elbaf being on a completely different level. It also makes one realize why the presence of Road was absolutely necessary here because without him, drawing the castle would’ve been that much more difficult for Oda.
Nonetheless, coming back to the big reveals, Hajrudin was also under that spotlight in this week’s One Piece chapter. Although usually he isn’t involved in the plot much, here, Oda set an exciting precedent for Hajrudin and made his dream clear to the fans. According to Road, Hajrudin was born from a Giant who didn’t belong to Elbaf, meaning that despite being the son of the King, he didn’t get the same treatment as Loki and was actually an outcast of sorts. Hajrudin’s dream was also revealed to the fans to unite all the Giant tribes of the world and then become the King of all Giants – something which definitely takes inspiration from Luffy’s dream, and is also very well explained based on his past experiences in Elbaf.
New Ancient Giant Lore Is Revealed
The Horned Giants Carry The Blood Of The Ancient Giants
One individual that Oda has been continuously bringing up over the course of the last few chapters is Oars. Fans know Oars to be an incredibly important One Piece character who was known to have pulled continents themselves in the past. His strength was legendary, even to the Giants of Elbaf. This time around, Oda brought Oars up in One Piece chapter 1137 by highlighting a Giant skull with horns. According to Road, those who have horns carry the blood of the Ancient Giants in their veins, even though it is diluted.

The Ancient Giants themselves are no more, with Little Oars Jr. being the last of their kind. But, the blood of the Ancient Giant tribe is still alive. Those with horns, such as Loki, carry Ancient Giant blood, as did his father, King Harald, although in his case, he pulled his horns out completely to show that he doesn’t seek wars and carnage.
This reveal in One Piece chapter 1137 is quite exciting, especially since it gives fans a reason to finally understand why some characters, such as Kaido, and Yamato, among others have horns. These characters all carry the blood of the Ancient Giants, although diluted over the centuries. Kaido himself has some Ancient Giant blood, and now, Yamato is the carrier of this blood as well.
Coming back to major developments within Aurust Castle, finally, Luffy and the Straw Hats got to see the bodies of the Giants who were taken out by the Holy Knights, with it now being clear that the intruders are already making moves.
Shamrock Figarland Is Finally Unveiled In The Manga
An Attack By The World Government on Elbaf Is Imminent
Close
One Piece chapter 1137’s most exciting part was, undoubtedly, when Gunko and the mysterious man continued attacking Loki. Unsurprisingly, Loki kept rejecting his offers and this is where Gunko showed her immense powers of the Aro Aro no Mi in full action, using which she dealt deadly damage to Loki and ensured that he passed out.
While Gunko’s performance in itself was incredible, what was quite easily the most exciting part of the chapter was the other Holy removing his cloak. Fans had been theorizing about the identity of this individual and finally, it was revealed by Oda that this red-haired individual was, in fact, Shanks’s twin brother and the son of Saint Garling Figarland, Shamrock. Shamrock Figarland looks exactly like Shanks, with the only difference being his long, braided hair, a lack of scar over the left eye, two arms, and of course, a military attire.
Upon failing to convince Loki to join the Holy Knights, Shamrock now has decided to change his strategy. The idea is to contact Marijoa and let them know that an attack on Elbaf be prepared. The World Government seeks the power of the Giants at whatever cost, especially since they once conquered the entirety of the New World by themselves. Shamrock’s conviction is certainly immense, and more than that, a clash with Luffy has now been officially set up. All fans need to do is wait and see it being brought to life, and with no break next week, this is going to be quite easy.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1137, is set to be January 26, 2025.
