One of the most shocking developments that took place in the story in One Piece chapter 1136 saw the mythology of the Giants finally get revealed. This introduced fans to some of the most exciting elements in the story pertaining to the characters of Nika, and of course, Luffy as well. In many ways, this major reveal has shaken up the way fans used to think about the crucial history of the world, with it now being more exciting than ever before.

In chapter 1136 of One Piece, Oda went on to reveal some very exciting bits to the fans, and much of it came through the character of Jarul. As fans know already, Jarul is a very important person within Elbaf, given that he’s respected as an Elder of the nation and is said to be the oldest in the world. It was through him that Oda went on to explain the mythology of the Giants to the fans. According to Jarul, the ancient scripture of the One Piece world, which can’t be translated anymore, called the Harley, says that the world has already been destroyed twice. This comes as a major shock to the fans for many reasons. For one, most fans were expecting the world to have been destroyed just once. After all, Oda has only mentioned the world sinking once long ago, and that was during the Void Century. If the world has been destroyed twice, that means the world must’ve faced yet another destruction long before the Void Century, and this makes sense, given that the real Nika was said to have existed long ago.

The Harley goes on to state that whenever the world is destroyed or is about to be destroyed, the name of the Sun God Nika is always involved. This means Nika is an ever-present figure whenever the issue of world destruction comes up. 900 years ago, when the Void Century actually began, Nika was present through Joy Boy and it can be said that his policy of Ancient Weapon usage was quite questionable as well, even though the whole truth about it isn’t known just yet.
In the current era, the World Government is preparing for a massive cleansing, likely using the power of the Ancient Weapons. This, once again, is happening with Nika actively present, and most definitely as a spearhead of the war for the opposition of the Government. How exactly Luffy will progress as Nika remains to be seen.
Most importantly, long before Joy Boy, there existed the real Nika who was born in Elbaf, meaning that this Nika was actually a giant. He too fought against a massive power strong enough to destroy the world, and this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, given that Nika only appears when the world is about to undergo a massive change. Undoubtedly, Nika’s enemy was a very powerful individual with tremendous strength and certainly someone who fans can’t wait to see more of in the future of the story.

The Only Enemy Nika Could’ve Fought Is The Sea Devil
Predicting the enemy of the real Nika is quite difficult, to say the least. After all, fans already know that Nika was a mighty warrior who existed long before the World Government even came into question. Back during this era, there was no Ancient Kingdom, or even Joy Boy. There was no scientific advancement of the world and there most certainly wasn’t any Founding 20 to oppose Nika. Yet, something definitely stood in his way.

During this time, the Red Line certainly existed, given that fans already know of its existence prior to the Void Century through the Lunarians living up there. Perhaps, whoever existed during this time was responsible for the creation of the Void Century, the Grand Line, and through it, causing the erratic weather changes in the world of One Piece, leading to the first major destruction. It is also possible that the Ancient Weapons, such as Poseidon, still existed. Given that Poseidon is said to return after every few hundred years, and the last time it was alive being the Void Century, one can assume that the era of Nika was about 1600 years ago.
It is said that our world was destroyed two times in the past. — Jarul
As far as the enemy goes, there is only one strong enough to rival a god-like Nika, and this person is none other than the Sea Devil. This entity is a myth in One Piece, just like Nika, and might very well exist, either through a Devil Fruit or otherwise. The Sea Devil could have potentially been the one Nika fought and defeated.

The World Of One Piece Was Redefined
Having a massive continent such as the Red Line running through a planet is certainly not normal, which leads one to believe that this continent was actually created by none other than the Sea Devil. It is also possible that the All Blue existed before this era, and that Nika fought to preserve it. Joy Boy could’ve also tried to set things right by becoming Nika, however, at the same time, fans know that Imu stood in his way. Curiously enough, Imu themself have been linked to the Sea Devil, which suggests that just as the Nika fruit was born, perhaps, the Sea Devil one was as well. This makes even more sense given that Luffy is the current Nika who must go on to beat Imu and free the world, fulfilling the Will of D for good, saving the world by freeing it from the clutches of the World Government and restoring the water levels by destroying the Red Line, as well as creating the All Blue.
Undoubtedly, the battle between the Sun God and the Sea Devil looks like one that is bound to continue, with Luffy being the last Sun God to finally beat the devil for good and restore balance to the world. Hopefully, Oda gives fans more lore about Nika and the Sea Devil in the Elbaf arc as the story moves forward.
