One Piece is currently in the Final Saga and fans are incredibly excited for Oda to go over the most exciting bits of this arc, especially knowing that it’s been around two decades in the making. Oda has been carefully crafting his story and finally, he’s incorporated the land of the Giants in his story—something that has greatly excited all fans. Elbaf is the second arc in the final saga of One Piece, which means that for the fans, this arc is going to be bigger than Egghead, where little to no full-on confrontation was observed.

More than that, Elbaf is due to take Luffy one step closer to attaining the grand treasure of the One Piece, and fans are incredibly excited about that. While all that is exciting enough on its own, this arc has a purpose bigger than just that, and it will most certainly set the stage for something much larger.

The Straw Hat Pirates headed to Elbaf immediately after the events of the Egghead Island Arc concluded. Given that Elbaf was where their log was headed and the Giant Warrior Pirates came to pick them up, this destination was a given for the crew. With the Straw Hat Pirates finally arriving on Egghead, a lot of exciting adventures as illustrated by Oda throughout the first few chapters. More than that, fans were incredibly excited about all the lore pertaining to the Sun God Nika, the Warrior of Liberation. That is precisely what followed, and along with all that, fans got to see some of the most exciting characters, such as Loki, among others, take an exciting part in events. As far as the villains go, fans also saw two members of the Holy Knights appear here, and it is safe to say the Elbaf has been absolutely brilliant for the fans in this regard.

As for the Straw Hat Pirates, Elbaf is a trip that takes them closer to the One Piece, in a way. They are currently looking for the last Road Poneglyph, and surely, someone on this island likely has information on the Man with the Burn Scar, which will come into play at some point in time. But, it is clear that Elbaf is not the arc where Luffy will find the last Road Poneglyph. As such, for Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates, Elbaf must serve a different purpose. The only other purpose this arc can serve in the story for the crew is to make them all stronger. After all, Luffy still has ways to go, and so do the remaining members of the crew. Learning about Nika and the other Giants, Luffy will most certainly figure out ways to grow even stronger, something that excites the fans to no end. Similarly, the other members of the Straw Hat Pirates are also bound to get stronger, preparing them for the clash with the Man with the Burn Scar, and more importantly, the World Government later on.
But, Elbaf has more than just that to offer to the Straw Hats. While they don’t intend to, the Straw Hats will gain the support of Elbaf. It must be remembered that Elbaf is a massive country, and most certainly a phenomenal force, given that the massive Giants call this place home. By far, this is the strongest country in the world of One Piece, which makes it quite special. Whatever happens in this arc, fans will definitely see it result in an alliance being formed between Luffy and the Giants, possibly led by Loki.
As for the manga, we’ve finally arrived in Elbaf! It’s a laid-back kingdom, but the serenity is about to be shattered by the arrival of a particular man! As far as the World Government goes, they too are massive players in the Elbaf arc. While it may not look like it, they are deeply involved in Elbaf already, and much of that is down to the fact that they want to strengthen themselves greatly before the final battle begins. Recently, the World Government sent two members of the Holy Knights to the land of the Giants. Both of them are incredibly powerful and they represent the Government’s power. Their goal was revealed to be to recruit Loki for the Holy Knights. Although not common, the World Government can officially make anyone a part of the Celestial Dragons, by offering them special status.

At the same time, it must be remembered that the World Government has another goal to fulfill in the land of the Giants. The real reason why the Holy Knights were sent to Elbaf was not just to recruit Loki, but to secure the support of Elbaf and make it their own territory, by force, if need be. This makes a lot of sense, given that Elbaf has the strongest army in the world, such that if they ally with any Yonko, that person would undoubtedly beat the other Yonko and go on to become the Pirate King. The World Government has also always wanted Giants, and seizing this country by force would certainly give them just that.

Clearly, Elbaf is going to be massive for both the Straw Hat Pirates and the World Government, and the primary reason why this arc exists isn’t to make the Straw Hat Pirates stronger, but to gain the power of the Giants. The only ones capable of stopping the World Government from ruining this country and taking them under their wing by force are the Straw Hat Pirates, and their strength is absolutely needed here.
At the end of the arc, the support of Elbaf will either be with the Straw Hat Pirates, or it will have fallen to the World Government. Whoever has the Giants will have the biggest advantage in the Great War to come, and that is precisely what makes this arc as special as it is.
