In their back-and-forth in the middle of Priestella, the pair’s high-octane battle sees both fighters unleash their arsenal of spells, with the entirety of the fight being spellbinding. In the end, Sirius emerges victorious, knocking Emilia unconscious with the Witch Cult member using a child as bait, bringing the quick but intense battle to a shocking conclusion, with the emergence of Regulus Corneas’ kidnapping of Emilia flipping the story on its head.

After fending off Ram and Otto in a spirited affair that sees Garfiel having to transform to progress, Subaru’s standoff with Garfiel sees the demi-human finally drop his guard, resulting in an outpour of emotions, ending a dramatic and action-packed chase that enables Garfiel to move past his trauma.

Upon trying to access the City Hall, Julius, Subaru, and Crusch begin to encounter Roy Alphard and Capella Emerada Lugunica, with the latter soundly defeating Crusch and Subaru through the use of a surprise transformation ability. While Subaru’s team puts up a fight, their lack of knowledge of their enemy and their surroundings proves fateful, showcasing the dangers and threat that the Witch Cult provides as they run riot throughout Priestella.

Despite their heroics, Petelgeuse’s transformed body chases after Subaru while the protagonist tries to reach Emilia in a carriage, with the tense and climatic chase being an emotional thriller that rounds out the season with style and fast-paced carnage, resulting in Petelgeuse’s satisfying demise.

As Frederica deals with the young Meili, Garfiel and Elsa go blow for blow as both fighters enter their element as their explosive battle wrecks Roswaal Manor, sending the building into flames.
In their tense showdown, Elsa’s assassin skills and Garfiel’s demi-human abilities come to the forefront, producing an adrenaline-filled match-up that leaves audiences in awe. However, at the fight’s climax, the distraction of Meili being in trouble sees Garfiel’s Divine Protection of Earth Spirits and unrelenting attitude lead the young warrior to defeat Elsa, wiping out the vicious assassin from haunting Subaru and his plans.
